Installing Games on Additional HDDs

I've always avoided it due to the fact that I'm dual booting off of my terabyte drive, but I'm considering wiping it clean and starting anew. How much of a performance hit do you get from doing this?

well if they are internal, there shouldnt be much but, external USB would suffer.

i was thinking about doing the same thing, but they spin at about the same speed and so im guessing it wouldnt be that much of a gain, more of a organization thing.

I've been doing it forever. I have my 1 drive devoted to Steam and Postal, and those are pretty much the only games I can have right now. They run fine for me.

Ive installed plenty of games on my 500gb mybook external... and they dont run great, but they run ok... but don't do that. I have a bunch of games on my other internal and they run fine... actually better on the extra sata rather than the ide.
