SphincterBone 0 Posted March 27, 2009 Damn my dad is probably gonna get this on his comp. Him and his damn ways of not knowing what is safe and what isn't. My mom is on her work laptop so she shouldn't have to worry. Btw linux is the biggest win ever. It would be a lot more of a win if it could replace windows for gamers though. SwitchBlade 1 Posted March 27, 2009 The key to staying protected is having a fully patched OS, not just staying away from harmful websites, just like you need to look after yourself to be healthy, you need to do the same for a computer, it must be maintained with effort, not just left to rot. Llethander 230 Posted April 1, 2009 Onoes, it's Midnight, April 1st and my computer... is just fine.Surprise, surprise. Only people who are retarded and don't know about security for their computer are at risk to the Conficker virus.I've had so many people mention this at work and my response has always been: The way I see it, the whole "Conficker virus" thing is going to be a lot like the Y2K scare - A whole lot of not much at all. Jason 786 Posted April 1, 2009 Uh oh. My computer just froze up and went black on me! I got teh Conflicker. Oh wait. I just hit the power button on my computer. I agree with Panda, people have been talking about this for the last few weeks in my area, and honestly if you have a decent anti-virus, and keep your computer even somewhat up to date, nothing will happen. I could see this being nothing more than just some april fools prank by some hot shot kid.
Llethander 230 Posted April 1, 2009 What better way to be able to say "Hah hah, April fools!" than to scare the world into thinking there's a big-bad-voodoo-virus on the horizon?

Purple Haze 0 Posted April 1, 2009 All i got is Ccleaner, and thats all i need , i bet if we try to download some virus program, it will be embedded into the download link. Btw the virus would have gotten into the computer already, it just evolving today.

CCleaner is NOT an anti virus, though I love it and use it, it just cleans you registry, online history, and unused files. You need malware protection and an anti virus. FeRoCITy 0 Posted April 1, 2009 If your Internet or Firefox or any other browser won't let you get to www.norton.com(or any other serious virus detector website)... you got the virus... Purple Haze 0 Posted April 2, 2009 Well i tested to see if this virus was bullshit. SO i was watching porn all day, even had it running while i was surfing the internet, going on myspace, downloading some torrentz, youtubing. And yea, i did basically all things i can to try and get the virus, clicking on popups, going to untrusted sites :axehead:, btw thier is this program called EConfickerRemover, download it off some website, and it pops up a black like bois screen and says, if u have the virus in your memory or something. And it says i dont have it, my computer is running really good today so yaa.
