dude you can build your own desktop gaming rig for that amount

mine was 1600$ including a nice widescreen LCD samsung 2ms monitor, including

Nvidia GTX 260

Q6600 Intel quadcore

4GB OC ram

ABS Tagan 800W gaming PSU,

EVGA 780i sli mobo

2x 250GB SATA HDs in RAID

and a bunch of other quality items

all gaming parts

you can easily build a nice computer with that much

i got all my parts from newegg, you can usually find useful bundledeals too that save you alot of money, and shipping free deals, etc, and they are a good company to buy from

id also recommend EVGA parts i have had good experience with them, and you have 3 month step-up upgrade program for their parts

i get about 130fps in cs constant, with settings on high and widescreen res

Heres my full invoice, alot of the shit has prob gone down in price, if some of the links are broken or the items are deactivated im sure comparable ones are around:

My computer was 800$ and i run css constant 170-200 constant and 22in widescreen all high. U dont need to spend 1500 if ur only running L4D,css. Now if u were running some new intense games crysis, bioshock, then u need a 2k pc.

I guarantee you don;t have the filters on or all the way up.

Oh, and I can play Crysis pretty well with high settings at 1680x1050 res, I turned a factory comp bought for 1k with just the tower when the economy was good, now the comp is 500.

Specs:

XFX 9800GTX

Intel G33 Motherboard

Intel Quad core Q6600 @2.4ghz

500gb SATA harddrive

4 gigs memory

Vista

Yes, actually, he does. Me and Chronx have very similar computers, and I can run CS:S at 1680x1050 with everything on max settings, including filters and all that shit, and I get similar frame rates.

Noobs, all of you. Want you want is this:

Mobo & CPU combo:

Intel DX58SO Socket LGA1366 Motherboard CPU Bundle - Intel Core i7 920 Quad Core, 2.66GHz, 8MB L3 Cache, Hyperthreading, Processor $569

RAM:

Corsair XMS3 2048MB Dual Channel PC10600 DDR3 1333MHz Memory (2 x 1024MB) [buy two pair for 4G] $130

GPU:

Diamond Radeon HD 4870 X2 Video Card - 2GB GDDR5, PCI Express 2.0 x16, CrossFireX Ready, (Dual Link) Dual DVI, HDTV $490

Ultra X3 ULT40064 1000-Watt Power Supply - ATX, SATA-Ready, PCI-E Ready, Energy Efficient, Modular $200

Buy a case locally or use your old one. Take the rest of the parts (drives, sound card, etc. . ) from your old rig. You don't need those parts to be that high performance in game, and these parts that I listed should have you set for a few years.

Lol you don't need a 2k PC to run Crysis. Hell with a 1.5k PC you'll most likely be able to run Fallout 3 pretty well and THAT is graphic intensive.
