James Bond

So what did you guys think about it?

I thought that it was more an action movie than a Bond. There was no fancy gadgets, they total the Aston Martin in the first scene, and the girls names were bland. All in all 7 out of 10

James Bond used to be the british spy that had the gadets to make most teckheads cream themselves in their sleep.

Like a watch that has missile in it, or a remote control flying hat, something weird that Q would think up.

But now he has a normal car in it, a gun, and some bird although hot, needs to have names that you will only hear in bond films.

It's basically a more expensive Bourne Identity film.

Go back to using explosive penguins or something to that effect.

I love, Diamondes are forever.

But yesterday night I went to go see Quantum of Solace. I went with about 15+ people and we annoyed the shit out of people watching the movie. :P

Btw the movie was really good.

What's with you people and gadgets? The franchise sort of 'jumped the shark' with the invisible car in Die Another Day; fans (including myself) were being turned off by the gadgets and gizmos overrunning any semblance of a plot. I mean, come on, seriously; Koreans are using a giant space laser to kill people, and Bond's car can turn invisible and climb walls. Oh, and American spies look like Halle Berry. ... no. The only character who could pull off the role of 'Q' is dead; they tried to introduce a successor and everyone hated him.

I liked the film. I thought that the Bond series has managed to return to its basic roots: a secret agent fighting the enemies of his country. Craig's Bond doesn't rely on missile-watches or submarine cars to carry out his mission; he handles business with guns, knives, and (when necessary) his hands. Instead of villains threatening world powers, the film shows small regional conflicts or battles out of the public eye. No giant lasers blowing up the DMZ. We're seeing a darker, grittier Bond than Brosnan's tech-bound one-liner-spouting character, and that's a good thing. This Bond bleeds, genuinely loves, and shows a capacity to evolve.

Its not so much the gadgets and such that the critics don't like this Bond movie, its the fact that this movie lacks a good plot. The movie seemed more like the epilogue of a book than a stand alone movie. The movie depicted Bond more of a one dimensional killing machine(mostly what he was in the movie) than an suave elegant spy/chick magnet in other Bond films. The movie also didn't really introduce the new Bond girl into the plot too well. Kinda seemed like they could've taken her out and the movie still would've been the same.

Don't get me wrong though, the movie did lack some cool gadgets I thought would surely spice up this movie.

they didn't really explain the story at all i think

and bond randomly finds a lake of water but he does nothing about it

fight scenes are too gay w/ the shaky camera

we need another goldeneye

Agreed, I prefare the James Bond Casino Royal, cause of poker :), I like poker, but I still like this movie cause of the action, and Daniel Craig is a pretty good actor.
