if you feel that people under 21 are not mentally developed enough to be responsible enough to drink, then why would they be mentally developed enough to make an informed decision on national matters?

I know that when I was a teenager, one of the reasons I had fun drinking was because it was illegal and their was some risk and excitement. Now since I can legally drink, I have to go buy an ounce of coke to get the same effect. (jk)

I agree, I have a lot more fun when I drink because I know I'm not supposed to. I've never been caught drinking so it's even more fun knowing I have to sneak about.

But I wouldn't lower it to 18. I just don't see any positive outcomes for it.

But then your argument leans more toward raising the age to vote, which has no consequence on mental development as opposed to lowering the drinking age, which does, and even if it didnt, can get you killed...

no that wasn't my point. The voting thing was just an example. The fact is, by setting the drinking age at 21 while setting the age of being an adult at 18, creates a subordinate and inferior class of beings that are aged 18-20 who are denied the same rights guaranteed to all other adult citizens.
