  1. Dude, seriously, CZ campaign can be a bitch. I still have not completely beaten the last few levels. You know how fucking hard it is to knife an expert bot and survive the round and win the match? Ugh... I did love CZ though, had tons of fun in it back in the Halo CE days.

  2. I'd love to see this plugin become fully functional. I'm willing to go through and add items and set up the entire system if no one else will give it the love and attention it needs. As it stands, the only useful thing it does is give you the occasionally useful coal and arrows. Oh and lightstone, should you find a use for it that makes it worth buying. The main thing gimping it is the lack of sell-able items that you can farm. But like I said, I'll st up the whole thing, np.

  3. I never said it would be called Zombie-Mod Classic. I have no intentions of doing so, either. I like the backpack idea, horny. Sounds like something the Assault class and Heavy Gunner could make good use of. Also, you will probably have enough ammo to make it through a typical round, provided you don't spam fire the entire time. But there will be a point where you will be thankful to have that Support guy around cause if the round lasts much longer, you won't make it without him.

  4. He does have a point, I was considering having the Support class regen HP as well, to counter the Spitter. Seeing as the Spitter's ranged attack deals 34 damage per shot. Depending on how we handle that, meaning if we decide to give it splash damage or a DoT, we might give the Support a minor HP regen to help out.

  5. There's no reason to cap the sniper class to 2 or 5 or whatever. An entire team of snipers would never make it to HEHS, they would always be wiped out before they'd score the 5 kill prerequisite. So it's not a matter of humans becoming OP, really.

    The reason for building propmenu into the classes is mainly balance reasons. If you have to pick between HEHS and the ability to spawn props, that alone will help balance any 1 human's ability to become a 1 man army. You will need a bit of teamwork to survive in most cases. My only problem with classes at the moment is probably the hassle of switching between them when you get tired of using a particular gun. I suppose it's not TOO big of a deal, but if I get tired of sniping (lol) and feel like spraying some bullets with an M4, it's not as easy as just buying a different gun, I'd have to press a bind and then 2 numbers to get to what I want. That could get old, or it could not be a huge deal. Not sure yet.

    I'm pretty sure people will still use the same tactics for the majority of the game, such as camping vents and stuff. So it's not that like the basic game play will change. The zombies will still have the familiar classes, such as head crab and doom and all that, there will just be an added chance to spawn as a rare type rather than your selected type. I could give you a popup and let you decide whether or not you'd like to become the rare or boss, you can accept or pass, and it will cycle till someone accepts or everyone has passed, at which point I guess the chance would be missed or I could force someone to be it.

    My problem with having bosses or rares purchasable is that it would detract from the classes themselves. They're not an "On Demand" type of idea, more random. I could allow prerequisites on the zombie classes to be met that would give them a guaranteed boss spawn once per map or something, but it'd have to be kinda crazy requirements. Otherwise it might be too over the top.

    I'll explain the two ways I see zombie HP working. We have scenario 1: Zombies have a flat hp amount that is added to if certain conditions are met. This is if we do not go with the Day cycle thing. So it would work like this:

    Case 1:

    pseudo-code-

    if (peopleInServer > 15 & zombies < 5) then

    {

    extraHP = (peopleInServer - 10) * 25

    }

    So. If the total number of people in the server is more than 15 AND there are less than 5 zombies alive, all zombies spawning will gain an additional amount of HP. Lets say it's a 32 man server and it's full. The first 4 zombies would have an additional 550 HP ((32 - 10) * 25 = 550).

    Case 2:

    This is how it will work if we go with the Day cycle plan. On the first Day, all zombies would have their flat HP amount. On Day 2, lets say we set the scaling to 5% per day, all zombies would spawn with an additional 5% HP. So for the head crab with 375 HP, he now has 394 (rounded). The doom zombie that had 4000 now has 4200. Lets say we have the Days set to 7, on day 7 the zombies would have 488 and 5200 HP, respectively. We could also add an additional % chance for rares and bosses to spawn the further into the Days we get. So on Day 7, there might be an 8% chance for bosses and a 16% chance for rares.

    EDIT: Just FYI, going into detail and planning out specifics like run speed and hp and stuff is fine, but try not to focus too hard on those specifics just yet. Any major design change down the line can completely negate all the theory work you did when generating those numbers, so try to think more about the underlying game play and design. We need to establish exactly how we want things to work before we can preoccupy ourselves with the details of balancing those systems. Otherwise we'll be all ass backwards and end up with a lot of wasted effort.

  6. So, as we all know, ZM sucks at the moment. Escape is doing fine, but the other server isn't even up at this point, to my understanding. I'm here to fix this. Due to the massive fail of the original Zombie-Mod at this point (the plug-in itself, not the concept or server), I'm writing my own Zombie-Mod for the server. If you give half a shit about how the Zombie-Mod server's game play functions, this is your chance to voice your opinion. I have fleshed out an entire Mod by myself, however I know that there are many bright minds here on the forums that could give some useful input, so I'm going to tell you all my ideas and hope we can come to some kind of understanding. First and foremost, the propmenu is being built into classes. I will explain this in detail a bit later. At the moment there are 5 human classes and 4 zombie classes, I'm looking to add a 5th zombie class, if needed. The classes are as follows:

    Human: Assault, Support, Heavy Gunner, Sniper, Demolitions

    Zombie: Head Crab, Torso, Regular, Heavy

    The names are up for debate, any small detail like that is an easy change. Each class has abilities associated with it, as well as being restricted to weapons associated with the class. In other words, Sniper class has HEHS and can only use snipers. Here's more detail on the classes as they stand now: (straight from the menu in the mod at the moment)

    ======

    Assault

    ======

    The Assault class specializes in assault rifles

    and mobility.

    After 5 kills, the Assault class gains enhanced

    movement speed and damage output.

    Can use all Pistols, SMGs, Shotguns

    and Rifles, as well as HE Grenades.

    ======

    Support

    ======

    The Support class specializes in light

    weapons and team utility.

    After 3 minutes, the Support class can place

    props and resupply team mates with ammo.

    Can use all Pistols, SMGs and Shotguns,

    as well as HE Grenades.

    ======

    Heavy Gunner

    ======

    The Heavy Gunner class specializes in heavy

    weapons and damage output.

    After 5 kills, the Heavy Gunner class will gain

    enhanced clip sizes and extra damage.

    Can use all Pistols, Shotguns, and the M249,

    as well as HE Grenades.

    ======

    Sniper

    ======

    The Sniper class specializes in sniper

    rifles and vitals readings.

    After 5 kills, the Sniper class will gain

    HEHS and Vital Info (HP remaining on ZM).

    Can use all Pistols, Shotguns, and Snipers,

    as well as HE Grenades.

    ======

    Demolitions

    ======

    The Demolitions class specializes in

    Grenades and C4.

    After 5 kills or 3 minutes, the Demolitions class

    will gain the ability to use C4.

    Can use all Pistols, SMGs and Shotguns,

    as well as HE/Flashbang Grenades.

    We will have all of the normal chat commands, such as !zspawn, !ztele and !class. There's also a little something something extra that you guys don't need to know about till the server is up ;)

    The zombie classes are straightforward, they operate just like the other zombies did. The bigger they are, the more hp they have, the slower they move. The smaller they are, the faster they are, the less hp they have, and so on. I also have rare zombies planned as well as "boss" zombies. There's a % chance (8% atm) for a rare zombie to spawn in the place of a normal one. The two rare zombies are the Spitter and the Leaper.

    ======

    The Spitter

    ======

    Slightly enhance attributes, but also gains the ability to preform a ranged attack dealing 34 damage. If you die due to the ranged attack, you are zombified. No AoE damage planned, but things like that ARE an option, if we deem it necessary.

    ======

    The Leaper

    ======

    Slightly enhanced attributes, once again, however this one gains a powerful jump ability. The jump itself is still up for debate. There are 3 ways in which it could operate at the moment. It would be a console bind ability, much like WCS ultimates. It could trigger automatically every 3rd-5th, what the hell ever number, jump. Or, it could be a double jump. I'd prefer to avoid console binds, if possible.

    There can only be 2 of each rare zombie up at one time, and only 4 total per round.

    The two boss zombies I have planned function in the same way as the rares. There's a % chance a player will spawn as one of them, rather than their selected class. At the moment it's set to 3%. There can only be 1 of each type per round, both CAN be up at the same time, if you're that unfortunate.

    ======

    The Stalker

    ======

    Buffed attributes, as well as certain other effects. When this boss spawns, the map will have certain effects change. An ammount of fog will be generated to obscure vision and announce his arrival. This guy is at 20% visibility, very difficult to see. Other abilities are up for debate. I was considering giving the leaper a less powerful jump with a cool down of some sort and giving this guy longjump.

    ======

    The Nemesis

    ======

    This guy's a tank. He's very hard to bring down. The map has some fog changes when he spawns, much like The Stalker. The fog isn't as opaque, however, but it does gain a red tint. The Nemesis' main ability is that his melee attacks trigger small physics explosions, he's a home wrecker. I was debating another skill that is nemesis-esque, such as some sort of ranged attack like a rocket launcher or chain gun xD But it seemed far too OP. Up for debate.

    When these two happen to spawn together, the fog becomes dark red and much more opaque. You're pretty much fucked.

    HUMAN INFO-

    The human classes operate on a rewards system. As you saw above, each class has a prerequisite you must meet in order to gain it's abilities. If you die, you lose all progress on the class, your kills and time are set back to 0. However, your upgrades are persistent, they will stay with you until a map change, death occurs or DC happens. The prerequisites are up for debate, as well as certain class abilities.

    As far as Z-Riot goes, adding in a Day cycle will simply scale zombies difficulty by which day you're on. That's pretty simple, I was going to use another method to scale difficulty on a per-round basis, but this might work better for game play. As well as scaling things like HP, I can also scale the % chance of a rare or boss spawning as the days progress. I can also give zombies a certain number of lives, or there can be an overall counter for zombies for which they will continue to respawn until it hits 0. It's all open for debate.

    I would like input on zombie models, maps and things like that, as well.

    So there you have it. I hold executive authority and will override decisions as I see fit. I'm not trying to be an asshole, but if I say something won't work, it won't. That said, this is all very open ended at the moment, I recommend getting input in ASAP before I get too far into development for me to make a change in a timely manner. Fire away.

  7. lol I have something in the works, but I'll look at Z-Riot to see what it's made of. I'm working my ass off on an sG only Zombie-Mod, we will be the only ones with access to it and the only server running it, seeing as I'm coding it all from the ground up. I'll let you guys in on some of the details as it approaches completion. Hang in there.

    -Audio

    EDIT: Actually, given the circumstances, I'd be willing to let you guys in on stuff early. I would like to know if you prefer the idea of the level system in Z-Riot. Meaning, how the game advances in days, rather than a flat rate of difficulty. I do like the idea, personally, but it will require a bit of tweaking. I might also have to push this project to a server plug-in if the features get much more complex. I'm open to ideas on game play. I'll make a new thread soonish, I suppose.

  8. On another note, I just discovered how to get the music from that web player on to my iPod. The way I use requires Firefox, that's it. If you go to the link http://dagobah.net/flash/vip.swf and listen to a song until it's fully downloaded (signaled by the pale orange bar being full on the web player) you can then type this into your browser "about:cache?device=disk", without the quotes. It'll take you to the temp net files storage for Firefox where we can then search for the name of the song you were just listening to by pressing Ctrl + F. You can also search for .m4a if you think it's named weird or something, that should also find the files. After you find it, click the link and it'll do one of two things: Take you to a page that shows you a lot of info on the file, including a link to where you can download it next to "key:", or it'll prompt you to download it. On a side note, "about:cache" is useful to know if you ever need access to the temp net files. Just put it in your Firefox address bar.

    Use VLC, it's made of win. My WMP doesn't seem to like .m4a. What a bitch.

    EDIT: Realized some of you may not think about it, but if you download a song then start listening to another and try to Find it in the list it will not work, you must first Refresh the page so the new file shows up for you.

  9. I have habits I've never bothered breaking, in terms of grammar. I'm also certain there's a few things that simply escape me, I'm by no means an English major. Sue me :P Oh, and the sig thing, get used to it. If you see me post without a sig, it's not me typing it.

  10. E-poon is for people who can't get IRL poon.

    That's not entirely true. Phone sex and epoon are kinda in the same area as masturbating, you are left to yourself to imagine what's going on. Your imagination tends to play on your ideal circumstances and preferences, so it's hard to really compare the two, realistically. There's a much bigger emotional connection with irl poon, a connection not everyone wants attached to sex or is ready for, so a lot of people will deal with epoon much better than the real thing. That's why it's normally easier to find yourself in a situation online where you can flirt and actually have it lead to something more physically gratifying. But ofc, there's NOTHING in the world like pleasing the one you love. The look on her face. Anyways, both sides have different advantages. Then again, what do I know? Clearly I have no experience in this shit, according to golden :P

    To further elaborate, why do you think so many couples fall into commitment issues with people online well down the line in their current relationship? Cause it's exciting, you're less inhibited without the person sitting right in front of you. (unless of course you're that unfeeling, uncultured jackass that literally is JUST after a piece of ass and has little regard for the other person involved) But that same person you broke your marriage to be with probably isn't as compatable as the one you actually married, but how would you know? All you've had is limited interaction and a lot of imagination to fill the gaps. The whole conundrum of "Is it love or lust?". On the flip side, because of the inhibition of the internet, it's often easier to start a meaningful relationship as long as you don't jump head first into the epoon part and actually take a bit of time to get to know one another and base your future actions off that knowledge. You're not as inclined to wear a mask when you are speaking to them online, so you have less "surprises" when you actually meet. Welcome to the success of eHarmony.

    Enough about all that, I grow bored.

    I'm not being terribly serious about most of this lol Just because I type a lot and put effort into these chats doesn't mean I'm freaking out or anything, that's just how I've always been xD Ask them, they've seen the castles I've built from walls of text in the past. I enjoy debates and thoughtful discussions and stuff like that, this is just an offshoot of that, more or less. And I agree with the majority of what you wrote, and for the most part I do ignore the silly on-goings of the forums, but I figured I'd voice my thoughts on this since I've recently come back and found these guys still active in this aspect. Like, a literal copy of what I left a year ago. It's fascinating. So it's all good man, I appreciate your good attitude about all of it so far xD (don't let fatboy get to you, im sure he doesn't mean it <3 Well, for the most part..)

  12. There are lots of things that could be said about a girl beyond blatant flirtations.

    There are lots of things that are said about those girls that aren't blatant flirtations.

    But of all the things you could have said, you chose to bitch about guys hitting on them.

    And that's where the lengthy elaboration of the idea "U mad bro?" comes in.

    And here we see you prove my point that you do not understand what it is I'm referring to. You seem to be predisposed to the notion that I am talking about guys hitting on the girls. As a matter of fact, you appear to have convinced yourself that I'm only doing it as a sort of "White Knight" tactic, as proved by yout last two statements. See? This is why you should not involve yourself in things you do not fully understand.

    To clarify, I am not addressing the guys chasing females, I'm mostly addressing Samm, in this case. Most of the people that used to chase after her appear to have moved on, and now she has a new batch of retards on a leash. But if it is what gets her rocks off, then more power to her, just stating what is on my mind is all. She is a cool person, I've hung out with her and Blaze before a while back, I just feel a bit of pity for her toys, so to speak. On the flip side, having been admin and talked to many girls of the gamer community that have had to deal with guys and their constant hounding, her way of handling things seems to be one of the most effective if you wish to have fun and not let things get too serious. So who's to say who's right? However, more than the guys that chase, I feel for the other girls that try to join the forums. It seems every other female we've tried to get into our community ends up in some sort of drama bullshit with Samm, which results in a massive sausage fest, which I have always been averse to. I love you guys and all, but seriously, a female's views and intuition are valuable and refreshing. So it's always been a bit bothersome to me how they just can't seem to get along.

    Side note: the comment you quoted was directed at you, not her or them. 'Twas in response to your lame joke about middle school and staring which has been said and heard many a time. As with the guys drooling over females on the forums and Samm chasing away every other female, it gets old after a while. Freshen it up man, give us something new to repeat for the next 2 years.

    -Audio

    EDIT: Oh also, get used to walls of text. I tend to do that.

  13. Marcos was always a giant stoner xD And propmenu is innately a good thing for ZM, it just needs work and a little TLC to reach it's full potential.

    -Audio

    EDIT: And for the record, I have absolutely no intentions of touching the Escape server, anything I might do will be a separate server. It's clear the Escape server has a good user base going, no need to mess with a good thing.

  14. OMG, an internet community recycling old jokes?

    Guys giving attention to girls?

    I've NEVER fucking heard of that happening!

    Sounds like someone only stared creepily at the cute girl in class without any luck a little too much in middle school.

    There's a circumcision thread around here somewhere if you just want to talk about dicks all the time...

    I know you're too new to these forums to know exactly what it is I'm referring to, golden (and to alleviate your fears, yes, I do forgive your ignorance), but having read thread after thread of useless bullshit drama involving some male on the forums and Samm or Dani over the last 2 years, you start to get tired of it after a while. It's not recycling of old jokes, though the whole "samm has a penis" thing has been done before, it's more along the lines of obsession, I guess. To have taken a break from the forums for nearly, what, a year? and come back to yet another thread exactly like what I remember just fascinates me to no end. This must be a life style or something. And please, get a new insult, nearly that exact one has been used here at least 3 times.

    "OH JESUS, SOMEONE MAKING A COMMENT ABOUT A GIRL THAT ISN'T AN INSULT/OBVIOUS HIT ON TACTIC. QUICK, call a therapist, this guy clearly -insert some random ass assumption related to his dick (in one way or another) when he was younger, here-."

    How fucking typical can you be.

    tl;dr If you come at me you'd better bring heavier shit than that, you little fuck. Commence the typicality.

    -Audio

  15. Jesus, this shit is STILL going on? Doesn't it get old after a while? I assume you all have to get a life at some point, which is why the old crowd seems to have moved past this trend/phase. Ahhh, that makes sense. So it just kinda cycles? New guys join the group and discover the resident females and this process keeps repeating? A new girl joins the group and the few we have fight amongst themselves? Weak...
