  1. I'm basing my decisions off of my own desire, and the suggestions of truck enthusiasts from multiple forums.

I would much rather put my faith in them.

And I was actually going to tell you to go look at my threads started, I really like to research what I'm buying before I do. Everything I've bought for my truck, I've been satisfied with, and its because I try not to buy on impulse and get second opinoins.

And don't give me this shit that I don't know how to work on my truck. I change my oil. I put the shocks, keys and blocks on. I may not be a mechanic, but I know my way around. So don't tell me I don't get my hands dirty.

I enjoy spending money on my truck, as a long with my guns, and computers, so what? I'm making $18 an hour working 40+ hour weeks this summer, and I've got all of my schooling payed off through scholarships already, I can afford to spend money on the things I enjoy.

I didn't come into this thread to argue or be told how to do things on my truck. I don't HAVE to spend any money on my truck, but I enjoy the things I put in it.

  3. Why not get a shift kit as well? You have a truck, not a race car, but if you're looking to spruce up the performance of your tranny, why only go half way? How much did you spend on your tail lights? Unless you like the Altezza style tails, you could have smoked yours for the price of a can of paint.

Nice bike... I need to get something like that for the fuel mileage... How big?

A corvette servo is nothing like a shift kit. I only got the servo because it gives more holding power. My transmission is known for slipping on the 2-3 shift, and this fixes the problem. I have larger tires on my truck, and a tune will help with some of the boginess that comes from larger than stock tires. I'm not going to have Justin tune it for speed, I'm having him tune it for economy, and drivability.

The tails I got for $120 total, including the 3rd brake light. They are brand new OEM's painted by a professional, and have a life time warranty. My current tails are 2 different colors because one got smashed and I had to have it replaced. Sure you can rattle can it, but I don't have the time and patience to do it, and it looks much better when you use automotive paint.

I don't see why you have to argue everything I do to my truck. It's mine, not yours, people have different ways of doing things.

Oh, and king arthurs bike is a 250, I can tell already.

  4. You can get 2" of crank out of stock keys unless your torsion bars are worn out. My buddy did it with his 2001 NBS with no problems. I don't think there are any real suspension changes between 2001 and 2003. You have blocks in the rear, correct? Did the leveling kit come with smaller blocks? If not, then you could have done it with stock keys. Just saying.

Maybe so, but I needed new shocks anyways. It only cost me $250 with the 2.2 shocks and a larger block (3" instead of the stock 2", and I'm happy with how everything turned out.

  5. I was looking at those online the other day, I'm thinking that is what I'm going with. It was nice to hear from somebody who has it and has great things to say about it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone, really helped me make the decision.

Yeah, also its got a very nice stand, doesn't wobble at all like most cheap monitors do, and its fully adjustable. The only downside there really is that I worried about was the response time for games, but like many others I could see not ghosting. And the 8ms is true, unlike the boasted 2ms time of some monitors. You will not regret it!

  6. 2" leveling kit? Stock keys should let you crank 2"... I've never heard of anyone having problems with that... I think the NNBS trucks have issues with that, but not NBS. Shocks should have extended that far, too. You didn't need new shocks because your suspension droop is limited by bump stops, anyway.

The stock keys would leave me with 1" of rake, I want none. The stock shocks will bottom out before you hit the bumpstop. I'd rather trust the guys on the forums I asked, thanks anyways.

  7. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?cs=19&c=us&l=en&sku=320-9270

Do it now, you will love it, Turkish Rambo will back me up. I asked a sales rep over chat if he could get me any money off, he got me it for $250 with free shipping. Once you see an IPS panel like this, you will NEVER go back to a TN like you have now I assume. I have a second monitor next to my Dell that's a TN, colors look washed and aren't as vivid. If you have any questions feel free to add me on steam or xfire.

  8. How's that leveling kit? Pretty sure you could have done it just by cranking the t-bars, but I don't remember how far the stock keys would let you go...

Alot better than stock, I got extended shocks along with it too. The stock keys don't let you crank much more than what they are set to by the factory.

  9. I feel like this sums it up:

Having already played and beat the game (shhh, a gentleman never reveals his sources), here's my unprofessional reddit review.

This game would've done pretty well had it come out eight years ago.

Eight years ago, the graphics would've been incredible. The jokes, while machismo dripping, would've be stomached with a healthy "Oh you" attitude. And eight years ago, having had only two or two shining lights competition in terms of FPS story presentation, the run and gun and tedious puzzle solve would have been A-Okay.

But this is 2011, and it's not.

The graphics are bordering on 'minimal acceptable for a major studio release' given the current standards. Modeling is good, but environments are uninteresting and often lifeless. Level design is downright poor, with driving portions being long and pointless. There's some inclination that the developers wanted to let gamers explore and pace themselves, but with no objective compass and often cluttered paths, it's not difficult to stand around for a few minutes wondering where the hell you're supposed to go.

Enemies are what you'd expect from the title, generally graphically updated versions of previous Duke series baddies. Very, VERY few inroads are made to introduce any new variations to the old formula. It could be forgiven if there was more to the game, but with the flimsy meat of core game play based around clearing out rooms of bad guys, it gets old. Even worse, there's only a handful of weapons to choose from. Oh, and the first boss is also the last boss with more phases. For fuck sake.

Looking back on it, I could fairly say the same about Postal 2. Except! Postal 2 was soaking in its own urine humor. There were regular verbal barbs, enemies caught in mocking situations, mission objectives that were silly and profane, every brand name was a pun or crude joke of some sort and a wide selection of weapons running from practical to obscene.

Duke starts off as a game, even before you press start, sold to us through marketing and prior games as a title that should be very aware of making fun of itself, making fun of other games, Duke's manliness, raunchy innuendo and "babes". Unfortunately, Bulletstorm does it better than modern duke. And Bulletstorm was only "good, not great".

The first few levels of the game are covered in Duke's decadence, with gold stripper statues and seemingly every other item in the game world having some duke theme or endorsement. But there really isn't a lot of substance past that. The only two times you interact with any "babes" are in the alien underground level and the strip club level, which is disappointing. There's no girls to rescue, there's no hidden areas, there's very few "funny interactive items" and the interaction between Duke and the vast majority of NPCs is stiff and boring.

    Also, the ending is crap.

    But...

I have a feeling that this game was basically shoving the dead horse that 3D realms had been beating for the past 12 years into the market place. Turning SOME kind of profit for the long, wasted investment that it had been soaking up. So yes, it's mediocre and it's outdated.

But, the franchise is now in new hands. I feel, and honestly hope, that Gearbox's involvement in this game was polishing an old turd. If they can implement better writing, level design, weapon variety and plot people can care about (or at least laugh at), then Duke may live on in better games to come.

Rent it, buy it on sale (if you must) or get it from a friend.. but this is not a 60 dollar game. And you will be VERY disappointed if you're expecting anything more than a 90s duke nukem game with a fresher coat of paint. It's bitter-sweet nostalgia.

  10. It comes out tomorrow, I've played some of it already...trollface.jpg

I'd say for the amount of time it's been worked on it is pretty nice, the graphics aren't top of the line but they aren't too shabby, the gameplay is just like every other good fps out there and the fights are fun especially with Duke's special brand of humor added to the mix.

    Best part so far:

"Sir we have your green power armor right here!"

*Shows a stack of green halo armor*

Duke: "Power armor is for pussies" *Grabs gun next to armor, walks away*

    I lol'd

    Edit: Oh right, discuss.

Yet Duke can only carry two guns at a time and has a regenerating health bar?

I had high hopes for this game, even though I knew it would be mediocre. So far its been blasted by about every review I've read.

  11. Fixed. He's simply not as good a shooter as the other big names, but his athleticism and attitude get him more points. More power to him, but he will never be as good as MJ, MJ, Kobe, Wade, etc.

Thats actually what I was looking for, just couldn't think of it haha

  12. It's okay what people don't see is how far the Heat got and it took 5 years for the Mavs to get a champ and it only took Miami 1 year with the big 3 to get to the finals. Also for the Lebron haters I dont like the guy either but he is the best player in the world for a reason.

The Mav's also built their team over a number of years, unlike the heat who splurged their money on 3 star players. People see how far the Heat got, but when you practically buy your team, you expect the result.

Also, Lebron is not the best player in the world. Maybe the most talented, but not the best.

  13. I know there is quite a handful of you out there who graduated from High School (or college) this year, including myself. Here's a congrats from me to all of you guys ;).

    Congrats to all of you!

(I know Fiasco, Mimic, Tobi, OG, and a few others are graduating from the top of my head).

I'll post up some pretty graduation gown pics later.

Thanks for the mention douche bag.

  14. Woah guy, the HAF series is awesome.

This! How is the HAF not a great case? Its probably the most popular case on OCN, and they know their shit. Especially because this one is a full ATX, and plenty of air flow.

  15. your cooler looks interesting, but more than a couple reviews complained about it starting to leak... just something to keep in mind.

This is extremely rare, and the few that have Corsair has payed for all the damaged parts.
