  1. What kind of modifications did you have to make to the top end? I assume you needed at least a steal head, since a stock GSXR head is cast aluminum.... it WILL pop like a balloon if you leave it be.

All in all looks like a good mod, reminds me of when my friend souped up his Ford Focus with a Zeetec head and what I have officially dubbed "super soaker NOS injection". It lasted about 3 months before the head ruptured but it was sick when it was working.

For the car geeks, no the rings did NOT go before the head. OEM Ford rings are next to godliness. Prove me wrong.

I just got back from roundup 2009 in atlanta (at the motor speedway)

top end? top end doesn't matter in dragracing, most of my mods actually decrease my top end pretty significantly... the 520 conversion (-1+2) takes about 20mph off my topend... I'm not precisely sure what you're talking about with the heads, aside from the frame itself, most of the steel items (the original 4-to-1 headers and pipes were steel, they're titanium now) weight reduction is fairly important. with a stage1 turbo (as long as you dont exceed around 8psi) you dont need to make significant body changes. you have to reinforce all of the bolts, and make some changes to the forks and suspension (ohlins works here) aside from that, 8psi of boost wont really do too much damage to the bike. (immediately at least)

psychobikes.com has some interesting articles, dudes with busas and stage3 kits pushing 500+hp they've changed the frame completely to support the power

nvm, i reread your post and assume you're talking the nos, the kit is direct, i've only used it 4 times, but i didnt make body changes for the NOS at all.

  2. i plan on majoring in computer science, computer engineering, network engineer, or even network security.

i love building computers and working with them, along with networking and learning about it. Ive also done my fair share of i guess you could say "hacking" and things of those such. i gave up on all that just because i got lazy and just didnt feel like doing it anymore. if you dont believe me, blaze will vouch me, and jarid (fadex one).

if you need to say "if you don't believe me" which i dont :P and you cant provide news articles or tagged sites or anything other than "other wannabes" it doesn't count!

anyhow, you may want to narrow those options down, those are all pretty intense, although, once (if) you go to grad school, you can use the same route i took and do something like information technology with an emphasis (or graduate certificate) in network security or something...

make sure whichever path you take is from an acred college AND an acred program. Network engineering is extremely math intensive (so much so, you will be 1 or 2 classes from a BS in math) this is assuming you take it at a reputable school (ucla, mit, berkeley, etc)

OH and also, remember to ask people what type of classes they took when they say they're compsci majors :D alot of information systems guys will try to claim the esteemed titles of computer science... it isn't true. You'll see when you start your program.

  3. Do want. I dont like those big mirrors though

At the track i put blockoff plates (they're just black aluminum pieces that fill in where the mirror was, they stay flush) on, but again, another military thing... to get on post i have to have mirrors :(

as to the HP, in bikes, people will pay hundreds of dollars for 1 (yes, one) HP... the stock gsxr750 has around 130 HP (weighs around 370lbs wet) with the turbo and other gizmogadgets the last dyno (when the custom power commander map was made) put it at 195rwhp (this is without spray) which is about 40 more than a stock 1000

with spray, depending on how good the racer is (im not the best, only been racing for a year) i can beat a ninja zx14 (1400cc bike, 100cc more than a hayabusa) but any skilled rider on that bike can beat me, but i hold my own

  4. more pics from the first set

more pics, this is the exhaust (an exhaust is required to enter a military base in the US)

the tinting applied to the front blinkers, the rears look the same, i'll get the taillight pic soon

the new windscreen (i broke the original one i had)

  5. I just finished the final touches on my baby, here goes

it's a 2008 gsx-r750 with a -1 +2 520 conversion kit; a garrett t25 stage1 turbo kit with 6psi boost; k&n racing air filter, two bros racing full titanium exhaust system with carbon fiber can; carbon fiber rims; velocity stacks titanium intakes; power commander V and wideband commander with autotuner; 8" extended swingarm with a 240 conversion kit on the rear tire and lowered 3"; wet nitrous kit with steel lines, 30hp shots

    i drag it's awesome

Ok, here's some pics... obviously you can't really "SEE" the 520 kit or the teeth count on it, the chain is just a bit thicker, the difference in teeth drops top end speed but increases launch torque. The turbo we actually took pics during the build, so here they are. the exhaust is almost 100% useless but i need it to bring the bike onto my army post, the velocity stacks are just aluminum pipes vs the plastic pipes in the airbox, k&n airfilter looks same as a car one, just smaller; the power commander and wideband commander... well duh you MUST have them in a turbo build... they're inside the rear fairing... You can see the extension in the build pics, it's adjustable if you didnt notice; the 240 kit isn't on yet, i'll get new pics of that soon, and it's obviously lowered (if you've seen this bike, you know its much higher) I'll take pics of the nos bottle (its in the trunk) when i take the pics of the 240 kit (although... if you've not seen a nos kit on a bike, you won't recognize the rest of it)

Also, i bought some spray tint and a new LED tail light the other day, so im tinting the blinkers and taillight black (to make everything black) i took the passenger footpegs off and ordered vortex black racing rearsets... and pazzo black shorty levers, the goal is to make the whole bike jet black. The next purchase will be an 8000k HID kit and then tint the headlight cover black (the HIDs are bright enough that they'll still shine through fairly brightly)

  6. they can't hold your juvenile record against you. many youth deviates have actually become very successful in law enforcement and law related fields because the system gave them a second chance. using your past (18 and younger) against you in the future is a form of discrimination.

if by "they" you mean a normal law enforcement agency, then you are correct. However, any DoD agency (to include all Military branches), NSA, FBI, CIA, etc can and will hold your juvi records against you DEPENDING on the crime, generally drug charges or weapons charges... if you stole a pepsi from a gas station or tagged some dude's car... i wouldn't worry too much.

While waivers are possible, the records are still considered. Also, any job that requires a top secret security clearance semi-considers the record since during the top secret investigation, all records are checked.

All that being said, do what interests you. I never changed my major, but i changed my concentration 3 times under my major. Remember, this is a degree you will have for the rest of your life... so when you start out, maybe you'll discover that program isn't all you thought it was, try things out, find what you love and roll with it.

  7. Hmm... I'd say she might run for president. She would be the perfect first woman president in my opinion... I am not gonna lie, Hilary Clinton would destroy our nation... No doubt about it.

And Obama... Not so good. He has a 31-year-old man, not even gone through college heading the auto industry stuff. Plus, he's cutting military spending in the middle of a war. WTF?

In my opinion, it should be required you serve in the military to be eligable for presidency.

Now, some people may take this as racist, but it's not, OK?

Obama was picked because he was black. Afirmative action. Google "Affirmative Action Lawsuit" if you don't know what it is.

I concur, but I am happy he stepped us up in Afghanistan. In July 2010 i go back to kill more ***heads

  8. I just finished the final touches on my baby, here goes

  9. except google will start charging eventually for the service in general... it's great because it's free... it was worth paying for when it worked with SIP and you could make in/outgoing called from your own voip PBX (such as asterisk) now... it's just... a neat thing that i'll stop using when billing begins.

    Grandcentral was much better

  10. i don't know what the big fuss is about with XP 64-bit. I run it no problems. I ran Windows 7 64-bit for a month or too also. I'm happy with the speed of both those operating systems.

I haven't had any probs with xp 64 or 7-64... driver issues when xp 64 first appeared on MSDN but taken care of fairly quickly...

Linux is still faster... (well, some linux is... ubuntu and distros like it lose out on the speed due to their focus on ease of use)

  11. Hey all, I'm will, I go by driz online. I've been playing CS for a little over 10 years now, and started playing WC3 mod back on 1.6 with only 4 races (Human rocked) I just got back from a long deployment to afghanistan and haven't played CS in about 2 years. I've started up again on the WC2 server and am loving it.

I've been in the Army for 7 years now, I'm a commissioned officer through an Army ROTC program. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Computer science with an emphasis in Internet and Web technology, a minor in math and military science. I have a Master's of Science in Information Technology with an emphasis in Web Services Security. I'm currently going through the Functional Area 24 course for the Army (we pretty much build the internet in warzones and make it better in non-war zones)

I'm have a Cisco CCNA, CCNP, and CCVP. CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, and Linux+. Im a Linux Professional Institute level 2 certified expert, an MCSE+i with a 2000 upgrade (haven't done the newer stuff yet) and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional. I am working on on CISSP ISSEP (Information Systems Security Engineering Professional) currently.

I am stationed at Fort Gordon, GA (which is in Augusta, GA) until July 2010, when I will PCS to Fort Bragg, NC (fayetteville, NC).

I am an avid sportbike drag racer. My current bike is a slightly modified 2008 GSX r750.

That's all i can think of about me, any questions, ask away.

  12. Hello, I had an idea about the recruit rank in your new system.. first i'll give my suggestion, then my reasoning.

    instead of =(UVr)= <name> why not =(UV)= <name> [R]

    1) it flows with your current ranking system

    2) the clan tag shows up properly in hlstats, currently it shows my clan as being UVR...

    3) for "newbs" to the servers, it distinguishes recruits more definitively from just being another clan (people thinking UVr is a clan different from UV...)

Anyway, i just thought I'd post this and see what you all think.

  13. right now im dual booting with ubuntu and x64 vista.

i wish i could use other linux's but ubuntu is the only one that supports my sound and idk where to get drivers for other os's =/

    you compile them...

  14. I am a US Army Telecommunications Engineer (otherwise known as Functional Area 24). I just went over 7 years time in service in June of 2009. I'm currently stationed at Fort Gordon, GA and will be going to 82nd Airborne Division in July 2010.
