1. there was no CHILD PORN posted. it was simply a link to TEXT stories. NOT pictures. child porn is defined as pornography with a child. pornography is pictures am i right? you banned 2 members for child porn when it wasnt child porn. what they posted was a bit disturbing but it was NOT against the rules.

2. thats my opinion about the place getting too serious. and i guarantee you i am not the only one who thinks that. sometimes this place doesnt even appear to be a "casual" gamers lounge.

What you have to remember is that laws vary state by state, and country by country... so what is ok in say Alabama (where the age of consent is fairly low) would put you in prison in michigan or have you hung in Kuwait...

due to the variance of laws, the server must adhere to the most strict of them in order to prevent people within the server being charged under the law... so while you guys are arguing semantics about the definitions, the server admins are looking out for our interests... bottom line is, some dudes got banned from a forum for posting some bad shit, but they're not in jail.

At this point in time about the only thing that can be done is to Demo/Steam Log/Screenshot the incidents and post a complaint here on the forums so that we can deal with the offenders. Unfortunately without something to show us who was doing it and what they were saying there's not a lot we can do about it at this point in time.

ahh... well, i bought that lacie drive and googled lacie hacks... found out it ran linux... so i copied the boot partitions to a disk, put a 2TB seagate drive in, copied the booting shit over and used that... been working for a year so far, 8 months of that in Afghanistan where power is shitty heat it high and well... things shake alot from bombings.

He moved it to the Trash which, while it may seem like it's deleting it, it's merely a non-postable, but readily viewable, section of the forums. Threads in the Trash are never deleted, as you can see by browsing through a few pages of it, and, thus, I did not understand what the issue with that was.

gotcha, that was a misunderstanding on my part. I looked through tech forums and didn't see it anymore and had to pull from history to find it. I didn't notice until recently it was in the trash... although... the moving of it at all was a tad beyond my understanding.

what you can also do is buy a chassis from a reputable dealer with good reviews, generally, you can crack it open and put a hd in there (any size/company) and it will work (usually)

so you can just buy a good hd, and good chassis and roll with it... but, an HD with moving parts will fail eventually, they're all rated for a certain amount of time, and the external chassis have limited cooling capability...

You are right, the rules do say that; as the person who helped write those rules though, the intent of the rule was more against providing a location to download warez. Telling someone to "download a windows 7 torrent" is a violation, but it's one of the ones where we would give a verbal warning for it; it's not something that by itself warrants and infraction.

This is something that should have been brought to the attention of one of the Managers rather than a thread like this being made. What's done is done though.
