QFT. I know I'm whacking the bees nest with a big ass stick but the 80's were the dark ages for music. There were only a tiny handful of bands that were even decent in the 80's and the rest became supermarket radio fodder. 60s-70s and some 90s. Not too big of a fan of most of the modern stuff either...

I broke down and got it. If IW manages to fix their net code it has the potential of being a great game, but as it stands now, its just above average. The matchmaking is completely balls. I work nights so every time I play, usually in the mornings, I usually end up getting shafted with some fucking russian host and have to deal with the shittiest lag ever. Its a shame too cause the gameplay is quite good.

I keep getting the same shit whenever I get an item. I don't even remember how it works, you get an item every 4 hours of gameplay? Or maybe a chance to get an item? When are they rolling out that trading system?

Pfft, you all need to get jobs, 30 really isn't that much. Also, don't really look at HoN as a different game than dota. Think of it as the same exact game, just cutting out the bnet/wc3 part of it so you can really play it as it was intended to be played. Also, how does LoL (stupidest abbr. ever btw, I die a little everytime I say/type that...) stack up against HoN. I know each game has some of the original dota team working on it, but I haven't heard any media coverage at all about HoN, but LoL keeps popping up all over the place. How does it compare? I've read LoL does away with the recipes and items? I'm pretty shitty at HoN but I think its damn fun.

I'm not a fan of turtle beach. I picked up a pair of the ~ $150 AK-R8's after the boom mike broke on my ~$40 Plantronics .Audio 370 broke, and for nearly quadruple the price, they were a really shitty deal. It was nice having the "surround sound" in CS:S and shit, but they clamp onto your head like a damn vice grip, I couldn't wear them more than an hr or less at a time. The sound quality really sucked too. The .Audio headset was open eared like the turtles, but some reason the turtle beach pair sounded real tinny. I went back to my .Audios and duct taped a shitty spare mic to my monitor, my turtle beaches are... hell I don't even know where the hell they are.

Honestly though, this is not the first game to depict horrific violence. If that is a reason to not buy the game, I would guess that your not a fan of GTA, Counter-Strike, etc.

The dedicated server thing is a piss off, and is one of the main reasons many PS3 owners will go to MAG(plus its x10 better)

But none the less, I will be purchasing MW2, if I don't like it Ill trade it in on the first day. and at least get 75% of my money back.

First of all, let me get this straight, its not that I find this bit of the game offensive, I mean if I was squeamish towards violence, video gaming wouldn't really be my scene. Its that I know other people will, and Infinity Ward, as developers, have a certain obligation to the gaming community as whole to not cause flak for the rest of the community. They could have easily portrayed the same situation through a cut scene where you watch these guys do this instead of actually partaking in it. You know a whole group of soccer moms are going to watch this and decide that their children shouldn't play video games at all, and it just hurts the industry as a whole. They are being blatantly confrontational for no real benefit. As far as GTA and Counter-Strike are concerned, in GTA you are more or less killing civilians with reckless abandon with almost a cartoonist feel to it. I mean you're plowing through masses with a chainsaw instead of gunning down a man trying to drag his buddy to safety. This is the first time you've played as a terrorist in a serious situation and physically shot unarmed civilians just for the "fun" of killing them.

And I mean it. I dunno what the deal is. Modern Warfare was one of the best fps's I've ever played, so maybe between then and now it was taken over by a bunch of money grabbing nazis or something, who knows. Anywhoo, on top of the $10 price hike, the no longer free map packs, and the lack of dedicated servers; for those of you that haven't already seen the news, the opening sequence of CoD:MW2 starts off with ~3 min of you playing as a terrorist in a crowded airport, firing on unarmed fleeing civilians, and then later at police officers/ law enforcement. Now, I've never been a believer in the whole "video game cause violence", but I believe that developers of games have a certain responsibility not to create mass hysteria and rage against video games like the hot coffee and other fiascos like that. I'm not saying this little section wouldn't be bad ass to play, but they could have explained the story by showing a cut scene or even doing it where you cant fire or something, or take the perspective of a spectator or something, but they could have been a little bit more responsible for representing the gaming industry. Jack Thompson may be disbarred, but I guarantee you we'll see news about this on Fox all day long as soon as they catch wind of it. Maybe I'm making too big a deal out of this, but it just seems to me that they needlessly are stirring a big pot of shit for no apparent reason.

Yeah, but at least with L4D you could actually host your own server, have custom mods and whatnot.

I know its been mentioned before, but the thread didn't see much traffic so I'm posting it in The Pub. For those who don't know yet, Infinity Ward is using a proprietary matchmaking service for all versions of their games and forbidding anyone from hosting dedicated servers. Its just going to be matchmaking like how consoles are currently set up. This is just a petition asking them to rethink that decision. Yeah the games 2 weeks from release and yes, petitions are gay, but its for a good cause.

News like this pisses me the hell off. Alright first of all, all of this was simply a bill in appropriations that said the government would not give contracts to companies that had a "rape clause". Secondly, people are fucking stupid if they think this clause lets employees of the companies just run around and fuck whomever they want. The clause simply means that they cant directly sue the company. The rapist is still going to be going to jail, it just means that the secretary isn't going to be walking of with half of the companies shares. Lastly, when it comes to everyone spewing this bullshit that its stern republicans all doing this, its not because they're greedy fascists who are in line with the big buisness. Republicans believe in a weak national government. This was big government stepping into the private sector and essentially dictating how a company should write its contracts with its employees. This was simply an appropriations bill that was getting way out of hand. If people think this "rape clause" should be illegal, then do it through the proper channels, and especially don't use it as an excuse to throw mud at republicans because they stood up against frivolous crap.

Is there anyone even old enough in this clan to have facial hair yet? I would except work expects males to be "well trimmed", I mean I can have a mustache and shit, but they'd have problems with a full blown Manson beard. Think we should do the opposite really. How long can you go keeping you're pubes short? Not shaved clean, but that really uncomfortable stage where its stubbly and really itches. Wouldn't last 10 mins.

Never heard of this game before I got a beta key in my email the other day, and all fans of dota should look into it. I know League of Legends is coming out soon as well, but this game is a 100% carbon copy of dota with a gfx update. The map is exactly the same, and it has pretty much all the same characters and recipes/items. Anyone know which game the original DoTa team is behind though, cause I've heard a lot about League of Legends but this is the first time Im hearing of HoN. Anywhoo, I might pre-order this game, so if anyone wants a beta key lemme know cause I think you get one or more if you preorder.

As for my getting caught baked story, the first few weeks we were at college we went out into the fucking woods behind our dorm, and a cop came out of the woods and busted it. We're pretty sure some fucking dude ratted out my roommate, whose shit it was. After that, they took him asside and let the rest of us go. He went back to the police station a bit, and he wasn't even charged with anything.
