Ok so it seems that even though I have been deep in a quagmire of my homework and RL for a few days, I need to step in and do some stuffs up in here.

So I guess Pebbz is A-OK with his infraction at this point, which I am as well. We have been trying really hard to crack down on unnecessary posts in the Recruitment section and Complaint department just to get some uniformity in those areas, as you all know. It seems that the problem is decreasing to some degree. I understand the need to make light of some situations, but if you must, try to accompany your jokes and stuff with meaningful input such as a vote in recruitment or vouch in a complaint against a rulebreaker. Otherwise your post just becomes another post that slows down the processes in these forums.

As far as Junzou having a bias against you, it really shouldnt matter even if he does. If you dont post anything in anywhere that could get you infracted, he would have no way of punishing you. There is judicial review among the staff, if necessary, and we dont just roll over on everything. If you feel your infraction was unfair, you can message us and we can either reverse it or get a discussion started amongst staff. If you dont get the ball rolling in the way that you want, try different staff members.

This is just a protip for me to help anyone out: I ignore 80% of the messages I receive on xfire just because I dont want to chat. If you have a problem, be sure to state it in your initial messages. If I dont get back to you after then, its probably because I was actually AFK.

I think it only make sense that infractions add up. If they didnt add up, then people would just get 3 free troll/spam/infractionworthy posts before being banned again for one day. With the way that these add up, players know when they are on thin ice, and if they continue to break forum rules, their punishments become more and more severe. Its like when a convicted felon who has recently been released is arrested and tried again. The judge is obviously going to sentence him more harshly (if convicted again) because of his inability to learn from his mistake.

On to the PM thing. I agree that there should be a more efficient manner of contacting staff members during a banned period than Xfire or, in the case of a lengthy ban, Vent. I attempted to screw around in vbulletin and grant the banned usergroup the ability to post threads in the Private Messages to staff forum but came up short. It seems that the Vbulletin message that comes up when you are banned overrides any access masks you may be granted. I am not Vbulletin proficient enough to fix this and I dont want to fuck over the entire system so I'm not going to go any further. Perhaps Jason can fix it.

Until then, Everyone do your best not to break any rules, especially in the supr srs forums.

By the way, whoever said Alien Swarm in first person is terrifying is a pussy.

It is actually rather tedious. As nice as it is to not have top down, you feel totally exposed at all times because you never know where they'll come from. Not to mention that the reticle on first person is about [-----------] that much too high, so if you put your reticle on something, you just end up shooting the ground. With some additional tweaking it could be good.

If I can play as a drunk or a retard, I'm in. I just want to wander around mumbling to myself and shove random players into guards. Those were the worst thing about the first game and if I can do that, I will be the bane of so many player's existence.

The very first time I played JB, I came in and joined T because I thought to myself "It would be much more fun to be attempting to escape than to be stopping escapees." I guess I was the only one with that thought because in the ~30 rounds that I played, maybe one other player attempted to JAILBREAK. Everyone else was like TEEHEE? I <3 LR SO LETS PLAY SIMON SEZ IM GOOD AT THAT.

There was one map that I played where I managed to get through some tunnels and come out in the armory, which linked into an office that overlooked a box full of Ts and I was able to systematically take out each of the CTs with a scout. But other than that, nary an enjoyable moment.

Yeah, it had abilities that allowed you to jump far distances, run quickly, make every headshot do like 4x damage and tons of other stuff that ruined the spirit of Zombie Mod and made having a balanced map nearly impossible.

So, total noob question here, but can someone explain what a propmenu is?

Basically a tool with which you could spawn in crates, barrels, all sorts of HL2 Props for use in the game. Kinda like a mini gmod. So you could spawn in a minifridge in a crouch spot and be invincible, with no way in hell that you could lose. Or you could stack up to a position that took like 4 props to get to and was inaccessible by any other means and then just shoot down any zombie props. It was cheap, stupid, and unfair.

The solution is muting kids whose balls havent dropped, not altering the server to drive away all of our good players. Army guy could build a propmenu, not that he ever would. He is currently in the process of building a script that allows you to place props to grant easier access to unfair spots.

Yama is pretty much an expert witness and, having played with him a lot, I know that he won't go along with something just because somebody is his friend. Hell, he and I have had multiple admin disputes and he never backs down. This is like if Oracion had been accused of freekilling early on in JB before he got a staff position and mitch was able to confirm that it was in fact a freekill. Would you mistrust that pair? They were well known as two of the most well versed JB players. This is pretty much exactly the way that Yama and Army are. I play ZM so often that I could build you a total profile of their personalities when it comes to administrating the server but to put it simply, it comes down to three words: Strict but Fair.

Ban stands. If you dont like the fact that army bans you for cade breaking, you should probably not fuck up his cades. Also, if you were even trying to barricade the main door to the blue cage in the first place, it pretty much screams "I am a n00b" and you probably wouldnt be terribly missed if you chose to find another server to play on.

If we do not accept trustworthy witnesses in cases like this, it basically swings open the door to anybody who wants to dick around because nobody is constantly rolling a demo and we'd just have to lift every ban that got a complaint and wasnt demo'd. Requiring a demo for rule breaking that occurs quickly and doesnt show up in the console, such as cade breaking, short term blocking, or many types of exploits, is RIDICULOUS (I can spell it right!) and witnesses are the best way to substantiate it.

So in an effort to clean up the CD, what is the status of this complaint (reading walls of texts regarding ZM/ZE makes me confused).

The rule is out in ZM, but oracion or chosen can decide if it should be banned in ZE.

I'll give shadow until midnight tonight to come up with a witness of his own who was also inside the barricade with army and yam and is willing to corroborate his story. If he does, I'll remove the ban. If not, it stays and your next ban for cade breaking will be your last because that will indicate to me that you are unable to learn from your mistakes.
