  1. BananaPeelz answered for me.

    Think of it like this...

If Trayvon pulled a knife and stabbed Zimmerman, would you think differently? Yes or no? Because a knife is in the same category as slamming a head against cement in-terms of being lethal, and that's what it comes down to. (Besides the fact that the prosecution has the burden of proof for conviction, while there were no eyewitnesses throughout the whole fight)

It doesn't matter who provokes a fight, because think of it like this.

"Pebbz approaches Goldentongue and starts talking shit to him. Goldentongue gets pissed after so long, and then punches Pebbz. Pebbz tries to fight back the best he can, although Golden's height makes it difficult, but then Goldentongue pulls a knife and stabs Pebbz in the ballsac. Now Pebbz is fearing for his life, and pulls a gun and shoots Goldentongue in-self defense. Goldentongue dies quickly, as Pebbz gets a perfect shot to a vital organ before emergency responders can arrive."

Now, does Pebbz go to prison and have his small Asian body get sodomized because he provoked the fight which ended Goldentongues life? Or does he get off, because he defended his life after Goldentongue used a lethal weapon?

Depends if that state has a statute about being an "Initial Aggressor" law. In some stats, Pebbz actually would go to jail as he instigated the fight to the point where Golden assaulted him and caused the situation to occur. If Pebbz has not intiated the altercation with a verbal assault, the entire fiasco would have been avoided.

  2. Alright.... my stupid laptop keeps auto-updating the Vaio shit and restarting itself over night... which means my alarm clock gets fucked every night.

Anyone know how to disable the auto-update function so that my laptop stops restarting?

So, what are the list of commands for the server?

Do we have a static map?

Do I need to apply for citizen or can I assume that since I"m breaking this NPC village I am grandfathered from the old server?

Sidenote : Possible glitch? Every time I look into a crafting table, free flint?

  5. Why would you want to smoke cigs? First thing I'm doing in August is smoking a big fat Cuban.

Unless you are in Cuba. You won't have a REAL Cuban.

  6. But worthy of a post. Found it on ASMDSS

I have been asked on more than one occasion: What is a soldier? The simple dictionary answer is one who serves in an Army. The actual answer is something very different. Anyone can wear a uniform, including mine. That's not what makes a soldier.
A soldier is Blood. Sweat. Tears. Duty. Sacrifice. Pain. Joy. Love. Willingness to give the last full measure of devotion. Infantry. Artillery. Aviation. Rangers. SF. Signal. Armor. Many more branches, all soldiers.
A soldier does not want war, but will never shy away from what he knows he has to do. When things are at their worst, others know they don't have to go through it so they don't. A soldier gives that soft sigh and trudges on, confident that at some point, it will end because he is the one who ends it. A soldier makes mistakes, can do the wrong thing and say something he regrets, and is big enough to admit his faults. He knows when he needs help. A soldier has to choose between leaving his family to go to war, and leaving his comrades to go without him, which is a tougher choice than you may believe. A soldier is a man who has faith. Faith in his family, his unit, faith in his country. Every soldier approaches God in his own way at some point in his life. A soldier does things that can only be understood by another soldier. A soldier does what is asked and more.
This explanation is yet not enough for some, and it will never be. We are too multi faceted, too many aspects and nuances to describe. Friends loved and lost, bad dreams, sleepless nights, broken bodies, tears and more tears. It's something not understood or completely easy to describe.
What do I tell people who ask me what a soldier is?

Put the uniform on and join me. Then you will see.

  7. So, I'm sure yall are or have had a pretty good day today, or this weekend. Probably drank your fill, had some fun, enjoyed time with your friends and ate some really good food. That's pretty awesome, good for you. I did the same.

But I also did something else that wasn't so fun and wasn't so awesome. This morning, first thing I did before going anywhere for fun, I went to Gate 1 Fort Carson. Kit Carson Park and walked along the rocks they have there.

Each rock has five groups of names. Ten names in each of these groups. There were six rocks in this fashion, the sixth one having twenty seven names on it for a total of Three Hundred and Seventy Seven soldiers that have died during Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as Operation Enduring Freedom. Those are the deaths from Ft. Carson alone, in just the years these wars have occurred. In total, 6,648 soldiers have died since the beginning of this war, that is not counting the tens of thousands of lives that have died since the beginning of this country.

So... I know that there isn't much left time in the day, and that's fine. But take some time in the coming days, if you haven't already, to find out where your local memorial is and visit it. Leave some beer for them to drink. Leave some roses for the love lost. Leave a memento of the tomorrows that they never got to have that they gave up so that you could enjoy your tomorrows.

Above all... remember why you have this weekend and the price paid by men and women greater than many of us.
