  1. 100% agree. However, If someone mentions a "season" of any kind just be aware that if a team drops out of contention for the finals then that entire team is probably going to lose the drive to even want to finish their season out and likely won't. A season won't be a valid option with our community.

I disagree, a lot of people who signed up for the tournament wanted to just play and didn't care about winning. A "season" or league format would let everyone play a handful of matches. It is still a viable option. People who signed up and didn't want to play, didn't show, as seen in this tournament. Season/league format is less draining as you can spread it out over a few weeks/months and play like what 1 match a week?

Anyway, I also like wind's proposal. An additional thought for loser's bracket, we could do bo1s like they do in The International Dota 2 tourney which would make loser's bracket games a lot more interesting and also a lot quicker and less draining for those who keep winning in the loser's bracket.

  2. Yeah.

Well, you shouldn't use this as an indicator of skill then. The CS:GO leaderboards take stats from community comp and comp mm. For example: I occasionally idle on a server that's listed as a competitive server which has led me to magically have 2.7 deaths per round in competitive mode, which isn't even possible. Also, that is not a KDR, it's a kill per round. Not saying you aren't better than the people listed, just saying if they've done the same things I have (such as idle in a comp server, or play a community comp server), there's a good chance those stats are poop.

  3. Hope being listed last didn't mean I was picked last...cause I looked at my teams stats and that would be funny if I was picked as "sub."

    Player - World Ranking % - KDR

    Vexer     -      91.7%       -     .464

    Cookie   -      26.7%       -   1.0486

    Reaper  -      49.8%       -     .9003

    Oreo      -      56%          -     .6809

    Illogical   -      69.7%       -     .7907

    Matthew -       23.4%      -    1.235

Might have to kick our captain from the line-up.....

Are these from CS:GO's in-game leaderboards?

  4. m4a4 if im playing a role where I need to spray down, cat on d2 for instance, but i like to have m4a1-s in a lot of other situations because of the no sound/no radar. USP-S for the same reason as m4a1-s, P2k and USP-S are identical in terms of recoil and accuracy, with slightly different spray patterns. You only use p2k/usp-s in round 1 really, so after that it's pretty much p250/5-7s to eco. For both weapons a lot of it comes down to if you spray and prefire a lot like sketch already said.

  5. just bought it, have no clue what i'm doing pls halp

It's a sandbox exploration game basically. Vast universe with tons of worlds to explore - your basics to the game though are mining ore, crafting items, discovering stuff beneath the surface and on top. There's pretty much no linearity to the game right now, so it's just free to do what you please with what's in the game. You'll need fuel to run your ship (i.e. coal). I guess the only linearity is crafting the next tier of armor, and jumping to the next sector (start in alpha, go to beta, gamma, delta, etc.).

  6. Played for a few hours tonight. I hate the fact that you have to fucking walk all the way back when you save and quit. fuck this game sometimes.

I mean.. it's nice for a quick exit from a huge tunnel/cave system. Would like to see a save feature like the beds had in terraria though.

  7. Yeah, it does. On the surface, the game is exactly like Terraria. It really should be fun, but it just isn't. It's partially because the game isn't finished yet, but at its core, it's just not as good of a game. I wish I knew exactly why, but I don't.

edit: All right, I just played it again to see if I could tell why it sucks. A lot of it is just because it's basically in an alpha state of completion. The game has huge balancing issues, and doing anything takes forever. Another problem is that the game is just butt ugly. It is possible to salvage, but I don't think it'll ever be a better game than Terraria.

Pretty much agree with most of what Dojima said here. I mean, it's to be expected, it is a beta after all. Luckily, there's still a ton of stuff in the works: http://playstarbound.com/the-future-of-starbound/

The game has huge potential to be as good or better than Terraria, but right now, it just isn't.

Also, I think I'll enjoy the game more when the quest/story line is complete. Gimme dat linearity.

Edit: I'd be down to play with some people if I have time on the day you guys set it up.
