I wonder if this sets a legal precedent for other games like counter-strike? Something like that would enable Valve to sue cheat providers for deliberately circumventing VAC protections. Might see a dent in the cheating market in upcoming years and a possible move underground like private trackers for torrents.

valve needs to do this too. cuz vac does not always work.

This happened before with blizzard winning a lawsuit against one of the biggest bot makers for wow and it really hasnt done anything to stop it or make a noticeable impact on it.

Unlikely. It costs a lot of money to file and follow through with a suit like this. 

 

I wouldn't be worth most lawyers' time to deal with small cheat providers who don't make enough money.
