GossamerFox

A new mouse

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I'm currently using this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FNKMVUO?psc=1 and it's lasted for about a year now but the wire is causing tracking issues. Oddly enough, the mouse cursor seems to move on it's own if left alone, it wiggles all over the place and this only began recently (i'm not sure what causes that)

I've been considering the Razer DeathAdder Chroma but also was looking at the Razer Taipan. Are there any other mice that I should be looking at for less than $60? I need something that I can use for both gaming, and homework.

Additional Info:

  • I'm Right handed
  • I'm a claw grip kinda guy
  • Quality > Fancy shit
  • Controllable DPI would be nice

Thanks!

I have a SteelSeries Sensei and it's pretty great. I've been using it for about 2 years now and it's still working fine. It's got a DPI toggle on it and four other macro keys on the side. If you download SteelSeries Engine, you can change each of the functions on the buttons. It's even got lights :^)

How do they get away with selling the mice for so cheap? O_o

The only issue I'd be concerned with is quality and reliability?

Because it from China, they have way too many. and you can look at different gaming mouses, $4 to $30.

Not only Gaming mouse, almost everything. http://www.dhgate.com/daily-deals/deals.html#pu1403-head-1 new deal every 24 hours, can go up to 90% sale off

Free shipping too.

Still a little sketched out on the whole quality part, but I guess it doesn't hurt to look

Logitech G502. You don't need any other mouse now

I was just looking at this!!

Didn't valve patch something about the scroll wheel so the infinite scroll wheel can't be abused to bhop? I personally use space bar so this wouldn't affect me, it looks a little complicated, but definitely on my list of mice to look at

thanks!

Zowie EC1-A or if you prefer a smaller mouse get the zowie EC2-A

I used to think people suggesting zowie mice were just circle jerking the mouse because pro csgo players used the mouse, but legit my EC1-A is the best mouse I have ever used. The quality is great, the feel of it in your hand is great, and I love the fact it doesn't come with any retarded software you have to install, literally just plug and play (there's a button underneath the mouse to change the dpi).

Holy mother of expensive mice

Price aside, I've heard that mouse has problems with the middle mouse button (either it becomes stuck, or loses some of the definitive scroll clicks)

It doesn't hurt to look at it though

thanks Eddy!

The razer naga worked really well for me. Lasted almost 2 years before I decided to switch over to Logitech mouses. Just a thought seeing how you have the extra mouse buttons on your current mouse.

I literally use 1 of those 12 buttons on the side, since i'm not a MOBA player. It seems CSGO doesnt allow me to bind the mouse buttons to anything as they correlate to the numbers on my keyboard...

After about  3 hours of internal conflict of deciding between the DeathAdder Chroma, G502, and the Steelseries Sensei. I went ahead and ordered the DeathAdder Chroma simply because of the price for that quality... Let's hope it was a good choice

Thank you everyone for your inputs! The only excuse I have now is my craptop :s

Personally i've been bound to the Logitech G700s for the last 4-5 years. I've had no issues whatsoever and i constantly use wireless, when laying down, and wired when at my desk.

Very interactive interface system as well. You should definitely check it out!

I think it all comes down to preference honestly...

For me I have always used Logitech when it has come down to gaming. I have only used 3 mice within the last 13-14 yrs

First mouse was the Logitech MX518

Second was the Logitech G500

and my current mouse that I just purchased around ~2 weeks ago is the Logitech Proteus Spectrum

This is the one I use https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-M801-Programmable-Profiles-Switches/dp/B00GU4F4OM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1471927565&sr=8-3&keywords=reddragon+mouse

I was worried that it was gonna be trash quality due to the price but it has lasted me well over a year and preformed better than any previous one I had. So highly recommend it or any of their mouses

Redragon > Logitech

Redragon > Logitech

That looks like my current mouse, but with less buttons

I used the DeathAdder before moving up to the Naga, and the DeathAdder is a nice piece of mouse. That said, I'm a palm grip so the Naga just feels right. Your best bet is to find a store like Best Buy, Saturn, Media Markt, or NCIX where they have the mice and keyboards out on display for you to try out. A lot of people overlook how a good mouse or keyboard can add to your enjoyment when gaming, especially in long sessions.

I used to use the Razer Naga Hex for the longest time (http://www.razerzone.com/ca-en/store/razer-naga-hex). It was comfortable and the thumb buttons weren't crowded, which I loved.

My current mouse is the Roccat Nyth (https://www.amazon.com/ROCCAT-Nyth-Victory-Gaming-ROC-11-901-AM/dp/B018K00V5U). A bit pricier but I really like it. The modular thumb buttons are nice since I can set them up the way I want them, though I haven't felt the need to actually change them since I found my preferred setup.

Logitech makes some great gaming mice as well for pretty reasonable prices. Hope you find something you like.
