Official "Recommended Items" Thread

So not many people know exactly which items work best with the various races. it often takes a long time to figure out what works best with one's playstyle, whether it would be rushing in blindly or staying behind and picking enemies off one at a time. This is the thread to make clear which items you should buy and which you should avoid for the race you're playing and the playstyle that fits you.
 
I'll go ahead and start with the template:

Race: Human Marine

Playstyle: Run and Spray (and Pray)

Items Recommended (and why): 

• Ring of Regeneration: Raises your maximum health to 155, giving you more to survive on and allows for extra time to spray and pray.
• Belt of Thorns: Works well with the ring of regen, allowing you to dish out damage as you take it.
• Orb of Venom: Each shot poisons and resets the timer for the poison, allowing you to nearly double your damage output.
• Orb of Frost: Slows your enemies down to allow for more hits (and thus more poison).
• Cloak of Shadows: Allows for you to hide in dark areas or generally make it more difficult for enemies to spot you at long distances.
• Necklace of Immunity: The cherry on top; the necklace allows for you to ignore nasty flame predators, undead scourge/lords, and various other annoyances in close range. The best use of it is against a Magneto who can disarm you and therefore end your winning streak.

Race: Plaguebearer

Playstyle: Suicide Mission

Items Recommended (and why):

 

• Belt of Thorns: Your poison does enough damage to kill enough people anyway, but why not ensure kills with extra thorns damage?
• Cloak of Shadows: One of the few knife races that doesn't have invis but could really use it.

Race: Pyromaniac

Playstyle: Be a Total Bitch

Items Recommended (and why):

• Claws of Attack: Your claws damage improves the damage of rockets, instakilling in some cases.
• Signet (Not listed on item menu post): You really don't want people casting their shit at you while you set up your mines and find a good spot (looking at you, crypt lord).
• Enchanted Chainmail: Extra defense for close encounters when you're trying to run like a bitch.
• Holy Shield: 50% chance to avoid being bashed, which is really useful since you don't have a gun.

Playstyle: Suicide Mission

Specific Map (Optional): Nuke

Items Recommended (and why): Scroll of Respawn: Teleport to the enemy spawn before they can leave it, spray and get 10 kills, buy a respawn and do it again. Ez meta.

[Agent 22]

Race: Soul Reaper
Playstyle: "No life homo faggot"
Specific map: Any and all
Items Recommended: Claw and Chainmail because theyre the wombo combo, plus thorns and venom, as a second wombo combo. In total, you can be the joy of the server :3
