Really annoying issue (DNS?)

Ok so its Christmas and little Stephen goes under the tree and sees Santa got him a HP Stream 11 to write papers/reports on while on the move.  It's a great/cheap laptop for using  Office 365, and watching Netflix/Youtube. 

 

However, later in the day, I removed all the bloatware HP stuff, but left the drivers.  Then, out of nowhere, I can't connect to the internet.  My home has 3 signals, Home 2.4, Home 2.4 EXT, Home 5.  Now my PC has a 5GHz enabled card, so I used the Home 5, but my notebook can only read the 2.4GHz band.  Up in another part of the house near my room is the 2.4 EXT, and extender for the 2.4 band so WIFI flows through the house. 

 

But back to the problem.  Whilst connected to the 2.4GHz, I can only access (to my knowledge) Facebook, Gmail, and Youtube.  Other sites like Joinsg.net, BusinessInsider, cnn, clubpenguin () doesnt work.  They "time out".  The pages that work aren't cached, because they refresh with new info.  So I looked it up, and it seems to be a DNS issue, but I've never seen a solution to this problem.  I've installed Malwarebytes and the Notebook is clean, it has it's Netgear drivers for internet,  and I've done ipconfig /flushdns so many times.  If I ping a website, it doesn't get a response (except the sites that I listed which work and bring me back ping times) 

 

However, when I connect to the 2.4 EXT, I get perfect internet.  It's not as fast as a direct connection, but it works.  But sometimes, I want to use the 2.4 since its faster and the EXT doesn't reach certain parts of the house, while the 2.4GHz does and vice versa. 

 

So that is where I'm at.  Please please please help. please.
