DNS Error: Help Elmo Out

Posted at request of Elmo, he is getting DNS Error, err_name_not_resolved, while using google chrome. He is able to get to the website using a VPN. He has tried a few fixes he has found on google but nothing has fixed it. He is able to access it using a VPN though.

Tell him to try to flush his dns

 

Type in CMD: ipconfig /flushdns

No work I tried everything when I google how to fix. Currently on my work computer which works... maybe my ip blocked it. lol

I tried -

ipconfig/flush dns

changing dns to 8.8.8.8

did a scan on my computer and came up clean/just this site

date and time is correct

tried using IE as well, page does not display

nslookup google.com came back with something

 

Interesting thing is when i change to 8.8.8.8 it's a different error (err_connection_timed_out)

Make sure you're hitting www.joinsg.net and not just joinsg.net

Yes only this site! All other sites works for me but this site. Cows told me to try that before this thread was made and I was positive it was www.joinsg.net. I will take a look when I head home as well to make sure.

 

Side note: I think it might be cause I'm in korea and it doesn't allow me to access it now. My work has wifi and I just tried it on my ipad and it doesn't work as well. My work computer works because i'm on a different network that isn't using a korean ip.

We are blocking Korea due to constant brute force attacks to hack into out systems. It is a non-stop automated attack.

Should be able to use a free proxy service, but i'd be wary of them.

use a proxy or a vpn; i know it sucks, but 95% of all of our attacks come from APNIC ip space and unless you have a static ip, i have to unblock an entire /8. If you DO have a static ip, ill just bypass it in the system. let me know.   (every time i was out of the country i used vpns, actually made things more responsive due to less hops)
