exposedsoul 0 Posted April 4, 2008 This is the new rig i'll be getting with my Tax rebate this year. I already have keyboard, mouse, headphones, and speakers. Those together alone i spent 1000 on. And I have a 22 inch LCD 3ms response time. so im good on that. I may just wait and save up and really dish out the cash for an ever better system. Waylon 2 Posted April 4, 2008 why the quadcore? I never heard great things about them?? Not familiar nor have I ever used one.
Vesper 22 Posted April 4, 2008 Quadcore is great for video/imaging editing and compliling. These programs make use of the extr cores. They are not so great for gaming as games can barely use 2 cores let alone 4. Also because of 4 it slower than a dual core.So if you want a monsterrig. Get a decent Dual core.If you want better most other stuff. Get Quadcore.Unless you lan to overclock it then get a quadcore hands down. The overclock easier and better than dual cores. PLus the benchmarking and fps can increase by 25% if done correctly.Dual cores although great are not that forgiving
Waylon 2 Posted April 4, 2008 I bought the E6850 dual-core and I don't see anything really better than that. My fps jumped up 50% (no joke), and my latency went down by 30-40. If I had know this sooner I would of made that purchase. There really is no need to overclock a E6850. The only thing I need now is a faster hard drive, because I'm not too fond of raiding 7200's. Guest some fag Posted April 4, 2008 That RAM is Godly- I've got some. So cool (temperature) and very stable.Nice choice on the 9800GTX... I would buy it, but I don't have the money and my trade-up program bit is a bit dated... The only thing I would consider is the 9800GX2 because it extends my step up (120 days).
