Super Smash Bros. 64!

Recommended Posts

If you're bored and banned from comp for a week or so then join teamspeak and download project64k. Because SSBM was a great game and arguably still is I started playing SSBM and decided to play SSB64 while i was at it as well.
If you are down to play then send me a mssg so I can wreck you =).

Set-up instructions are easy as hell, just follow a few steps and you're in.

Emulator Downloads
Project64k Vista/7/8 Edition(This is probably what you want)
Project64k XP Edition
Mupen64k (Prefereably don't use this)
Super Smash Bros. 64 rom

PJ64K Set-up

Plugins
You may also get a bunch of errors after first opening the emulator this is okay. Go to Options->Settings and select the plugins in each of the three boxes.

-Always use Azimer's Audio v0.30 (Old Driver)
-Select whatever Graphics plugin works best for you
-Select your input pugin and set your controls
-MAKE SURE YOU UNCHECK RAW DATA in your controller plugin under Controller Pak or else your controller.WILL NOT WORK ONLINE

Rom Directory
You will need to set your rom directory to where your roms are saved. Press "Refresh Rom List" to see if you set it to the right place.

If you have roms showing up in the window of PJ64 then you did it correctly.

Other Settings
Go to File>Start Netplay
1.P2P - for peer to peer(Most stable and better desync results)
2.Client - For connecting to a master server and to lobby up with other people.
3.Playback - Upon hosting a lobby or server, you can choose to record. You can play back these recording using this setting.
Most people use LAN, so make sure you switch to this.

Online Play

After completing the above
Click on File>Start Netplay
You have two ways of playing: P2P or Client. P2P is the best for 1v1 but it does not support more than 2 people. Client does support multiple people but has higher desync rates and will more than likely have bad results.
To join someone doing P2P:
1. Change mode to P2P

Host set up
2a. On the Host tab set your nick and correct port(27886).
2ab. Select Super Smash Bros and then "Host."

2. Connect to given IP (Host has to have port 27886 port forwarded)
3. Both people ready up when ready
4. Game Start

To join using Client:
1. Change mode to Client
2. Change connection to LAN(All players must have same connection for this to work)
3. Join Smash FU
4. Whoever wants to host clicks on "Create" next to the chat function
5. Upon clicking create, click on the supersmash (u) [!] rom
6. Players can now join by searching for the hosts Nick on the bottom half of the server window.
7. After joining, host presses start.
*Note: Mass desyncs can happen if even ONE player has a bad or "spotty" connection.

Cheats
*Note: Only the host has to worry about this.

You need to have 2 Gameshark codes enabled as well, System->Gameshark Codes while playing the rom to turn them on.
-Have Mushroom Kingdom (enables item switch) CODE: 800A4937 00FF
-Have all Characters CODE: 810A4938 0FF0

Notes:
Your controller has to be on before opening Project 64k
Shitty internet fucks everybody up not just you.
Everyone has to have the same rom.
Smash FU server contains Super Smash bros. pros.
