I was reading this one article a while back on how uneducated white people originated the word "nigger" from Nigeria and didn't know how to pronounce it. I laughed so hard because when people say that word now all I think is uneducated ignorant assholes who think they know it all. Most racists blame the whole race for the select few. I don't believe in race, but I do believe in Nationality and where one comes from.The word nigger may have a link to that, as many who used the word were stupid. But I'm almost positive the words roots originated from the spanish "negro" which means dark. It really wasnt ever a derogatory word until its institution by slave owners. The spanish word for a black man is "Negrito," it wasn't saying anything rude, just referring to the skin color...same as calling a white man "white." Anyway I'm not racist, I do however have a problem with ignorance, open hands, and giving my money to people who don't work for it. Be they white, black, hispanic, asian, whatever. People who use racist slurs and such only say it over the internet because thats all it is, over the internet, therefore no real sense of punishment can be issued. In my area racism is a joke, the only people that say anything are highschoolers that do it to be funny and crack jokes. fatb0y 1337 Posted April 9, 2008 Amped what your saying isnt really racism. I think for a statement to really be considered racist you have to take into account the intent of the person saying it. If i said nigger is a racist word. Me saying the word nigger does not make me racist. I am simply conveying a message. So the people in your area who crack racial slurs as jokes are not considered racist because their intent was not to be racist. Their intent was to be funny and people understood that. AmPed 0 Posted April 9, 2008 ^^ well the first post said "i see more racism in CS now than ever" or something along those lines, so I tried to put it in perspective.But i will say that I haven't seen any real hardcore racism in forever, I think it only really exists in the south anymore.
