Mr. Big Shot 84 Posted June 9, 2013 No way! 'Bama is good, yes, but the pro game is such a higher pace and more physical game than in college. 1 _kyle_ reacted to this

BananaPeelz 709 Posted June 9, 2013 No way! 'Bama is good, yes, but the pro game is such a higher pace and more physical game than in college.Basically this. Pro teams, even the worst ones, consist of the best college players who have matured and grown as players. Even the rules are more strict in the pros. It's a faster and harder-hitting game, so I don't think 'Bama could win. 1 Sooners reacted to this
Goldentongue 3616 Posted June 9, 2013 Maybe. As cool as it would be to see, as I'm a Bama student and longtime fan, like Bananapeelz said even the lower string NFL players are phenomenal football players who have years of success behind them. However, Alabama is a powerhouse of all-around talent with very few weak spots and Saban has coached them to work incredibly well as a team. While they will have a blatant size disadvantage, they may be able to compensate through speed, efficiency, and coordination.Chances are they would lose. But I think up against the worst few NFL teams, a team like the 2011 or 2012 Crimson Tide just might be able to hold their own. We'll probably never know. 1 Sooners reacted to this

Oreo 2073 Posted June 9, 2013 A number of SEC teams could beat the lower tier NFL teams, Alabama would just be the strongest of them. Any other conference would have no chance.
Gonepostal2000 620 Posted June 10, 2013 you guys need to realize that nfl teams play much faster and harder, these guys get paid to do their job and spend all their time on improving their game, even the lower tier teams 1 Tubbles reacted to this
Turtles 70 Posted June 16, 2013 The pros may not have more skill but they definitely have more knowledge and experience of the game.

The top SEC teams spend hours a day looking at tape and practicing, arguably more than NFL teams. If anything, college players play for heart and image. NFL players just do it for the money, most of them don't do it for the love of the game. It's why I can't stand the NFL compared to NCAA, NCAA is just so much more exciting. John_Madden 1 Posted June 23, 2013 im sure one or two college teams could beat a nfl team with ease.It is probably possible, but it wouldn't be easy. A college team would have to really work hard to beat a professional team.
Sooners 342 Posted August 1, 2013 There is not a single chance in HELL a college team could beat an NFL and there is literally no argument to be made otherwise. The worst teams in the NFL have players who abused everyone they faced in college and were All-Americans, etc. 1 Tubbles reacted to this
Tubbles 252 Posted August 15, 2013 (edited) All the players not good enough for each level are weeded out in recruitment for college, the NFL has the draft then training camp and then preseason to see who's ready for that level of football. There's plenty of players who were on #1 teams in college that end up busts or just sub-par in the NFL because it's such a ridiculous gap in skill and training. Also, most teams in the NFL have veterans who have been there longer than any college player has been or will be on their team. There's a reason why Nick Saban is an AMAZING college coach, but he stunk it up in the NFL, same with Pete Carroll his first time around. Experience. If you're one to believe that even a middling or failing team in the SEC could beat the top team in most conferences just because they're in the SEC then you'd be silly not to think that wouldn't be true for the NFL. Bigger, stronger, faster, and a hell of a lot more experienced from 3rd string all the way to their conditioning coaches. edit: what the hell are you talking about Oreo? There's plenty of players in the SEC that are just in it for the fame and perks of being in the SEC and whatever boosters are promising them when they're recruited. The difference is that players in the NFL that don't care are generally quickly gotten rid of because it's not just their job on the line if they perform badly because they're too apathetic to show up. Michael Turner is a good recent example, dude didn't give a shit enough to stay in shape and only performed for a handful of games last year, he was cut in the off-season, no-one's picked him up yet. Albert Haynesworth, shopped around after clearly not giving a shit, cut from each team he was on until everyone realized they couldn't coach him to give a shit. Jamarcus Russell? Is he still showing up for his paycheck? Shit there's players on my favorite college team that are only in it to be popular locally and they went 4-7 last year. You're super naive if you think college players just do it for the love of the game. Edited August 15, 2013 by Tubbles
