Zeus, if you would be so kind to help me again.

Recommended Posts

Ok well I need a build that fits what I need and the price must be around 500$. I'll do a lot of gaming and a decent system with 500$ is reachable I think.

We posted a lot of stuff, but Nitestalker also posted back on that other thread.

I would change his video card and psu choice though, but look at it.

If you're on the $500 budget, I'll grab Nitestalker's post and edit it with the new video card and psu.

I'm sry, ive been runnin around places lately and got your list for ya now :)

AMD X2 2.2Ghz 4200+ Dual-Core Processor - $64

4GB (2x2GB) Mushkin DDR2-800 RAM - $87

Gigabyte Geforce 6100 Chipset Motherboard for AMD AM2 - $46

XFX Nvidia Geforce 8800GTS 384MB PCI-E Graphics Card - $169

Seagate 250GB 7200rpm SATAII HDD w/ 16MB cache - $69

Nifty case / 350Watt PSU with dual +12V rails - $30

Total: $469.94 - Add $21.54 for UPS 3rd-Day shipping.

(Note with that motherboard you can use the onboard video to multi-monitor, verra nice, take your spare monitors load off your gaming card.)

If you're looking for a good deal on a new LCD monitor, I like these:

19" Viewsonic LCD Monitor 1280x1024 Native 5ms - $189

Actually, the setup might be fine, Phoenix.

EDIT: You can take out that Seagate, since you already have that WD. Same thing, just different manufacturer.

Saves you $69 right there. Leaving you at $400.94.

You could maybe pick to upgrade a part of your choice.

Video card maybe?

Is the power supply in the case? Because 350W is pretty low, 450W+ is recommended. The hard drive I won't need, will the motherboard support this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822144701. I also need a dvd/cd drive. And will the motherboard you recommended support the 8800GT at full speed? And should I get fans? And one last question, does the video card support VGA screen or ill have to get a LCD from my brother?

I edited my above post.

Yes, the power supply comes with the case, but I do agree 350w is low.

When I click your link, it comes up with an error. Is it a PSU?

Something like this for a DVD/CD drive would be good - http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...52&CatId=89 - I'll try to find an alternative on Newegg.

I quoted Nitestalker, that was his reply, and I believe that motherboard will run the 8800GT at x16.

I'd recommend getting 2 more fans, since the case comes with 1, for a total of 3, as a minimum.

It's a 80mm, not sure if 120mm will fit in there.

Here is my hard drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822144701. My brother is coming to my home tomorrow and he'll give me his opinion on the build. Did Zeus say to get the GT or GTS, which is the best performace?

Yeah, same thing as the Seagate, just different manufacturer.

GT over GTS 320mb.

I have a link to the GT I'm getting multiple times in this thread.

Oh I forgot, I want a better power supply. Which 450 or 500W would you recommend?

Whatever fits your budget, but I'd go with 500W to be safe.

Well help me choose for a power supply, i'm not good in the voltage thingy. And post which is the best video card. Meh just repost the complete list detailed since i'm lazy lol. I don't want to fuck my first build computer. Is the power supply removable of the case or I should just buy a case with 500W if it's cheaper.

I don't have to go AMD and SLI, but that's what I planned. Unless there's some kind of cheap dual core by Intel, maybe around the range of $100, I guess I'm going to have to go AMD/ATi with Crossfire. The parts you provided in MasterZan's thread are great and I'll definitely consider them, but we just wanted to try Nvidia for a change. Having a 3870 doesn't seem too exciting compared to having a 8800GT/GTS/9600GT, lol. If there aren't any cheap cpus, not necessarily but you know, that won't bottleneck the rest, then I'll go with your CF setup.

*500 what?

MasterZan also seems to be going AMD/SLI.

What do you think about his mobo choice? - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813131246

or this? - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128075

500 series chipsets from Nvidia, such as the 560, 540, and so on. Zan is going Crossfire/AMD, according to him, of course.

Just get the same setup he gets, ok? AMD/Crossfire is the way to go if you're on a budget, and you want good performance.

Pinoy I already gave you a proccesor. But what ever ill find u another one. Dam 100$ thier is nothing good for 100$

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819115031

But u should by a really good cpu fan if ur giong to overclock to get any real performance.

You don't NEED to overclock to get real performance if you have a REAL processor. That E4500 is not a competitor for the 5000+

Around $100.

That's perfect, thanks Chronx.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16819116063 - ?

Or is Core 2 Duo better?

I don't have much experience with Intel.

The 5000+ is better than that E2200- FAR better. So much better, in fact, that you can't even compare the 2. The E2200 is WAY old tech, used around 3-4 years ago.

Dude, Pinoy... Just get on Xfire, Chronx is going to steer you the wrong way.

I never said E2200 that sucks. I said the E4500. Also I'm steering you in the right direaction. Because I've prooved it.

No, you didn't, but HE suggested it HIMSELF. Even then, the 5000+ is CHEAPER AND STILL OUT PERFORMS! No, you AREN'T steering him in the right direct, because you're retarded, and you can't prove ANYTHING you say. Did your mom fucking curb-stomp your ass when you were a baby?

Heres proof of ME being right:

http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu_2007.htm...1&chart=416

Thats the Athlon X2 5000+ Black Edition (unlocked for easy overclocking) that is $94 on NewEgg against the E6300 which is $172 on NewEgg.

You're fucking wrong. Shut the fuck up, and just admit you don't know what you're talking about.

The E6420 is better then 5000 and 5200. And their isn't even E4500. And why is the E6700 better then the E6750?

Yeah, but it's even more expensive than the E6300. You totally missed my point. The CPU I recommended- the Athlon X2 5000+ BE performs better than the CPU you recommended- the E4500, which costs more. I chose an even better CPU than the one you recommended and pitted it against the 5000+ and it still won, and it's still far cheaper, and is a much better value.

The thing is, AMD is known for their overclocking capabilities- the 5000+, when overclocked to about 3-3.2Ghz, performs as well as and better than the 6000+, which isn't far off from the E6750, so you're getting performance of a much more expensive chips, at a fraction of the cost- see what I'm getting at here?

Also, the E6750 is a budget version of the E6700, if I do recall, correctly.

Budget version u mean by cheaper version. But I really see no diff between the 6750 and 6700 except the 1333 fsb. But shouldn't that make the 6750 better.

It has to do with the core. Different version- E6750 rather than the E6700. What exactly they did to make it cheaper, I don't know, but again, if I recall correctly, thats what it is.

My 5000+ BE owns all.

End of story, Goodnight.

Except for my Intel E6750.
