Survarium is a free2play MMOFPS game set in the near future. The game focuses on a mass- scale ecological catastrophe on Earth, the reasons behind vaguely known.

Impassable woods advance onto cities from every side, maddened animals and birds attack industrial complexes, military structures, warehouses and power plants. Towns are cut off from each other, there are no water supplies, no electricity, gas, communication is lost. Countries collapse, anarchy spreads throughout the world. Now force dictates who to survive. In the meantime, new species of greenery and animals purposely destroy human civilization. Strange plants and mushrooms grow through concrete and steel. Scientists all over the world haplessly try to cope with the anomaly sprawling across the Earth with terrifying speed.

Eh, War Z is more about zombie infestation. This isn't the same, but similar in a way.

Vostok Games, composed of developers from the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, elaborates on its coming free-to-play MMOFPS Survarium in a new developer diary video. The game is set in the near future, after a "mass-scale ecological catastrophe" leaves Earth a wasteland.

As seen above, the video details the five skills that players level up by completing faction missions. Survarium will require a constant connection to the Internet and will not include a single player mode. The game is expected to launch on PC at the end of 2013, just a few years before the world goes to hell (according to Survarium, of course).

I'm glad to see the potential for a new sub-genre opening up here, but I don't think The War Z is going to be the way to go per se.

cool idea but, it has the potential to be utter garbage. especially since Day Z is already out there, let's hope this provides production value outside of a military combat sim.

Im sorry, but I feel like this is going to be terrible. Dayz with xp and skill learned? It would make it even harder for new players since from what I can read, you will lose everything xp wise and skill wise when you die.
