W3T Dreamz 0 Posted June 10, 2011 I recently had to restore my computer to factory default and I had the same problem with my iPod touch. Unfortunately iTunes doesn't have a feature that allows you to take songs off of an iPod/iPhone since it requires you to have the files on your computer to use them. You are going to have to download a program online that takes the music off your iPhone and downloads it to your computer. Then you can just drag and drop the files to iTunes. There are a lot of programs for this, but the tough part is finding the software that are free. Youtube is a good place to find these free programs easily. Frosted Butts 53 Posted June 10, 2011 what firmware is your iphone? youre going to have to jailbreak it to get root access so that you can retrieve all the mp3 files without using trial versions of other programs.if your firmware is 4.0.1 or older, go to jailbreakme.com on your iphone to instantly jailbreak it (easiest method ever)then, connect it to your pc and run this program--> http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/find the media folder or itunes library or whatever and just import all your music. It will be split up into a few numbered folders and all the files will be named 4 capital letters (ex. QKJC.mp3)however, putting the songs into itunes will instantly show the artist and song names just as before.

Robert Timecock 19 Posted June 10, 2011 Same thing happened to me a while back, I either used TouchCopy or CopyTrans. Can't remember, but it worked perfectly. I seem to remember having trouble finding a good torrent though.
Dojima 7619 Posted June 10, 2011 hahah, so insane to me that iPods/Phones don't allow you to use them as essentially portable storage. Get a Cowon player next time.
