I always found this comic to explain a bit of why. Many adults find it difficult to exercise because they are determined to have it be as horrible as possible.

I look at it this way. What would I prefer? Being able to walk correctly and with least stress possible on my body when I'm 80, or be confined to a wheelchair because my legs give out due to my overweight body?

I prefer the former, hence healthy eating and exercise.
