Marvin 1296 Posted August 9, 2010 Start by playing the Tutorials in the game.Check out this thread: http://www.syndicate-gamers.net/showthread.php/33231-Starcraft-2-guide-for-beginners-advance-playersAnd head over to http://www.teamliquid.net/video/userstream.php and watch some live streams of other players playing. You will learn a lot from these guys as they are mostly top platinum and diamond players. Then start playing against AI players. Start off with easy, then work your way up. Do 1v1's against the AI. Blizzard has provided novice versions of some maps, so play with those too.

DERP DERP 6 Posted August 10, 2010 I'm afraid I'll be placed in the Platinum/Diamond league. I'm not up to that competition >__>.
Baatar 0 Posted August 10, 2010 Most important things is picking one race that you feel comfortable with. For me I went from Protoss to Zerg and finally I stuck with Terran. Each class has its advantages and disadvantages which equals the whole game. Zerg is best suited for people who like to rush and can produce units constantly. Terran is suited for people who like turtle up in their own base and wait for the right time to strike. And the Protoss is a mix of the other two. Protoss have very strong units with a lot of hot points, but they are generally more costly. If you ever need help get on vent or if you have skype and I can be glad to help you. I might not be the best, but I can as alway be there to help!My bnet name in sc2 is redHero- 412 and if you want pm me and I can give you a more in depth veiw of starcraft.@Derp DerpThere is always a possibility that you can face five people who suck and be placed in Platinum. But you can gain more experience by people with the better than the who aren't as good.

Milo 4 Posted August 10, 2010 Learn your build orders. Without them you suck ass, with them you hold a chance at competing with people who can actually play...
