No, Blink182 is that bad. Nowadays if the band isn't either heavy metal or hard rock, then they're a bunch of fuckin' pussies. All of them sound like girls, but don't go on and say, "o well dragoonfork soundz liek a bunchc of grlz", because that's different. Actully, the Decemberists are not punk or emo.

They are Indie and they kick everyones asses. The lyrics actully tell a story to every song and they absolutely burn everyone.

The only reason why no one likes them is because no one knows em! hahahaha

I like songs that have a good beat to it and don't get annoying. I don't like songs that make you want it to end or are just annyoing and boring such as metal.

The Crane Wife, which is the newst album of The Decemberists and is also called the best of The Decembersits.

The Story of the Crane Wife

"The Crane Wife is an old Japanese tale. While there are many variations of the tale, a common version is that a poor man finds an injured crane on his doorstep (or outside with an arrow in it), takes it in and nurses it back to health. After he releases the crane, a woman appears at his doorstep with whom he falls in love and marries. Because they need money, his wife offers to weave wondrous clothes out of silk that they can sell at the market, but only if he agrees never to watch her making them. They begin to sell them and live a comfortable life, but he soon makes her weave them more and more. Oblivious to his wife's diminishing health, his greed increases. He eventually peeks in to see what she is doing to make the silk she weaves so desirable. He is shocked to discover that at the loom is a crane plucking feathers from her own body and weaving them into the loom. The crane, seeing him, flies away and never returns.

Band leader Colin Meloy found a version of this story and decided to write music based on it."

P.S - Metal bands all have the same kind of sound. It's all guitar and drums. Nothing special like Alternative, when the songs always have a new beat to it. Alternative rocks because artists always make up brand new beats rather thank rap when its the same or metal when it is like "ugg, same kind of music". I'm ok with rock since you can at least hear what the people are saying and it doesn't annoy you like hell.

O Valencia!" is The Decemberists' fifth single, and the first released off of their fourth studio album, The Crane Wife.

The music was written by The Decemberists and the lyrics by Colin Meloy. It tells a story of two star-crossed lovers, similar to that of Romeo and Juliet (or a modern, urban retelling of Romeo and Juliet, the famous musical West Side Story). A man falls in love with a woman who belongs to a gang which is opposed to one he is in. At the end of the song, the girl jumps in to defend the singer, who is confronting her brother (the singer's "sworn enemy") and her brother, aiming for the singer, accidentally shoots her. I don't even care about musics lyrcis. I just care if it has a good beat to and gets me pumped for sports.

The Decembersits just happen to get me focused and feeling fresh before a big event because it gets me relaxed. Nothing all. It's also a great band to hear when I'm studying because the beats get me focused like sports.

You do realize that Artists usually have lyrics that relate to their lives when they were teenagers and not when they became rich (that would be rap)?
