Amber 91 Posted March 17, 2010 Yeah so apparantly Monday night while I was sleeping, my dad got a virus on the computer. Wouldn't surprise me if it was a porn virus, but it deleted the recovery file in the system 32 and so we can't do anything with it. Can't take it to get fixed because of all the illegal music we have. Anyways, you won't see me on vent/steam/games until we can get it fixed or buy a new one. I'll still be on the forums and on xfire. But I know you'll be sad cause you won't get to hear my constant talking(: But yeah, just wanted to let you know. Oh and how convient is it that when I got home Tuesday I had just gotten back from buying a webcam. But maybe it works on the xbox. Who knows.
Kai! 3 Posted March 17, 2010 i lol'ed. use the recovery disc that came with your pre-built computer. i.e. format hdd and reinstall windows
Amber 91 Posted March 17, 2010 Durdur Kai, pretty sure I said, IT DELETED THE RECOVERY FILE FROM OUR SYSTEM 32. Disc has no use when we don't have that. Plus, we are trying to do everything we can to not have to reinstall. WE WILL LOSE EVERYTHING. that includes all important photos and such.. This isn't my own computer. It's the family computer. The only one we have in our house.
Polis 0 Posted March 17, 2010 Do some research into what virus it is and remove it manually? You can also get some local faggot tech guy from the yellowpages to come fix your computer if you are computarded. He isn't going to give a shit because you have some mp3's on your computer. He might make a copy of all your nudes though.

Tansen 52 Posted March 17, 2010 I have whats called my fail drive. Its not an external but its just a 250gig hard drive I use that has its own standalone OS, all my anti malware/virus and drivers on there so in the event of a catastrophic need to reformat I can use this. It was especially useful when one of my anti viruses caught my AntiWPA.dll and deleted it. It wouldn't allow me to even log in to windows because my "trial" period was over, well I just booted on my, I call it the fail drive, fail drive and slipped the AntiWPA back in. As well as that time my Mbr boot file got deleted by Norton Ghost. It let me transfer my shit on to another drive while I formatted.
Amber 91 Posted March 17, 2010 Well I don't have that.
-DragoN- 2 Posted March 17, 2010 You just said it was a Malware virus. Either way you're going to lose everything, becouse it's deleted everything by now.
Amber 91 Posted March 17, 2010 Even if we lose everything, I don't really have anything important saved on there. All my pictures a leave in my camera cause I don't like to delete things. Parents are the only people worried about it. Moms graduation pics are on there and the house pictures. They don't have that stuff saved anywhere cause they can be dumb sometimes.
