Palin Rage Quites

Recommended Posts

LOL, i saw this like 2 hours ago when it first broke on CNN..... BTW, you can't edit titles, I know :P. Just think, this woman is buckling under pressure now, when with just a few hundred thousand more votes here or there, she could've been Vice President O.o.

There is no way she ragequit. If she was able to weather the storm of her having $150,000 wardrobe, she wouldn't just randomly up and quit. I feel she is gearing up for a presidential run (Newt and Mitt are both not doing anything other than preparing, they have no other obligations)

/If she does run for president and comes out of the primaries, it will be an absolute slaughter.

I think that may have been a general sense of a soso canidate (honestly McCain would not have been the end of the world... McCain dying and having Palin being put in charge may have been) up against the force that is Obama.

http://www.pollster.com/polls/us/08-us-pres-ge-mvo.php

Chart of the polling data on a day by day chart. Palin was announced on the 29th? of August, there is a clear spike in McCain when he does this, but almost immeadiately he returns down to numbers he was at in every other month.

I would say the spike was of the 'omg he picked a VP' combined with 'omg he picked a gurl'; but as Obama numbers climb to higher numbers grabbing all the previously undecided voters, McCain's numbers fall (I would argue as people learned more of Palin and became more and more afraid).

McCain would have put up a better fight with a better VP choice... but still would have probably lost.

Palin completely polarizes undecideds and (in my opinion of course) make a terrible canidate. Of the three main contenders the republicans have now (Palin, Newt, Romney); I would vote for Romney over Obama, Obama over Newt (but not be overly upset), and absolutely cry if Palin won. This all just assumes Obama doesn't either turn in to superman or gets us all blowed up.

The video has her seemingly visibly shaken. She looked quite flustered for possibly announcing her presidency. I'm now betting on something illegal!

Hmm... I'd say she might run for president. She would be the perfect first woman president in my opinion... I am not gonna lie, Hilary Clinton would destroy our nation... No doubt about it.

And Obama... Not so good. He has a 31-year-old man, not even gone through college heading the auto industry stuff. Plus, he's cutting military spending in the middle of a war. WTF?

In my opinion, it should be required you serve in the military to be eligable for presidency.

Now, some people may take this as racist, but it's not, OK?

Obama was picked because he was black. Afirmative action. Google "Affirmative Action Lawsuit" if you don't know what it is.

Technically, if you had to be in the military to be president, I'd say 50%+ wouldn't be legit then. :P Especially the last three or four in office. Also, the military 'cuts' are more towards getting out of the illegal war in Iraq, since a deadline is supposed to happen in 2010. Just wish it never happened in the first place though.

As to Palin being president, I just don't see that happening. Considering during the campaign she wasn't really stopping much hate-speech and the like, especially with some crowds saying "Kill him!" aimed at Obama, I don't see any reason why she should be allowed in if she condones that behavior. That's just beyond sad. I also don't get why she's so popular for doing a lot of nothing... but then again, the same could be said about a lot on both sides.

As to race, yeah, I'll admit it did factor into him winning, can't really deny that to a high degree, but I chose him moreso because his ideals weren't extreme compared to the others on the Right. If McCain had been in the race eight years ago, I would consider him since he had his head on his shoulders then, but I saw him sell out a bit in the past four, so he's not really a 'maverick', but a conformer in my eyes.

Oh, and go go health care. We need it. :P

I disagree on both points. I would like a president (regardless of if they were the first woman or 44th old white man) to know what newspapers they read

As far as Hillary goes, she was quite active in Bill's administration. She definitely wouldn't be a very good president in my opinion, but she 'would not destroy our nation'.

And Obama... Not so good. He has a 31-year-old man, not even gone through college heading the auto industry stuff. Plus, he's cutting military spending in the middle of a war. WTF?

I assume you are talking about Brian Deese, Middlebury College would like to have a word with you.

Also, when the military has funding cut so it can't buy planes (the F-22s) that cost ~361 million EACH.

Also

In July 2009, the Air Force reported that the F-22 requires more than 30 hours of maintenance for every flight hour, while the Office of the Secretary of Defense puts that figure at 34 hours of maintenance per single hour of flight.

On top of that, the Obama administration has actually INCREASED the amount of funds the Department of Defense will be getting for their initial Fiscal Year.

See:

http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2009/02/defense_budget.html

In my opinion, it should be required you serve in the military to be eligable for presidency.

I don't think it should be a requirement, is there a reason you feel that it should be a necessity? I feel as if, while yes the President's job is to keep us safe etc; being in the military does not guarantee the best leader. Along those same lines, not being the military does not exclude someone from being the best leader.

Now, some people may take this as racist, but it's not, OK?

Obama was picked because he was black. Afirmative action. Google "Affirmative Action Lawsuit" if you don't know what it is.

When I google 'Define Affirmative Action", the first definition that is returned is:

"a policy designed to redress past discrimination against women and minority groups through measures to improve their economic and educational opportunities"

I did not see any policy put in place that caused the election of Obama. I'm sure plenty of people (sub)consciously voted for him because he was black, and I am sure plenty of people (sub)consciously voted against him because he was black. I do not see your point.

I dunno if I agree with that concept. I mean sure they might be good in handling war tactics and such, but what about balancing the books and making sure we dont get even more in debt? There is a lot more to being president than keeping us safe.

That is why the president has a cabinet, that is also why the president has the ability to call the nations best professionals to help him with specific problems those people are trained at fixing or knowing about specifically. It wouldnt be the first time.
