Guest Fohacidal Posted April 26, 2009 My school is the first in the US to close apparently thanks to 2 confirmed and 1 uncomfirmed case of swine flu, god damn. I even get to the school today to pick up my truck and was ambushed by 2 news crews wanting to do interviews, I think I know one of the girls who is sick to D:

Guest ShadySTDs Posted April 26, 2009 Its not the common swine flu.... Here is a link to the CDC page for the current Swine flu outbreak (http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/investigation.htm)This one is no joking matter the mortality rates are not super high yet but the ones at biggest danger are those with over active immune systems YOUNGER PEOPLE! A great site also for those who want to read up on where is swine flu, or what it is (http://www.newfluwiki2.com/)

Asator 0 Posted April 28, 2009 Well, glad it hasn't come to Finland yet. Although it will in few weeks i guess. But i would say no worries yet. When there's like 1 million infected and 10% from that dies i will get worried. Now, theres over 2000 infections or so and deads 100. But well, we'll see how it goes. hairynipon 20 Posted April 28, 2009 My dad was reading a book called something like plagues, plowshares and ur mum... (hese a spatial statistician) and it talks about how earlier when we didnt have access to modern medicine the earth would take care of overpopulation. As more people were around that meant that there needed to be more crops so when you cultivate a plot of land it releases CO2 that was trapped there. As CO2 levels rise the earth gets warmer, were talking 2 or 3 degrees on average here, but it makes bacteria more likely to survive this usually cuases a plague of some kind killing a lot of people. This causes CO2 levels to fall again and human life to thrive again. Now of course its irrelevant because we have things like soap and penicillin just thought I would share though.
