You haven't provided a valid argument or any argument to begin with. Your entire OP is nothing but complaining about how you don't like the rule and how other servers don't have it.

It's very idiotic to mute voice chat then complain cause you walked into a claimed room. Some people don't see chat as it can move fast depending on how many are using it and some do ignore it, but people do read chat. You can't state everyone ignores chat when it is a false statement.

Yes it isn't an essential rule. As Sportsteen stated none of the rules in place are essential to the game mode. In my first post I pointed out how it get's traitors to act faster during rounds before overtime and gives inno's an advantage when it hits. The entire game mode for inno's is literally to survive or kill all the traitors. They don't have to run out and die when they just need time to run out to win. Traitors are the ones required to hunt the inno's down. If the traitors are screwing around and not doing what they are supposed to do they can get punished for it. IE sitting in a room all round not trying to kill anyone. From this sentence alone it appears you don't even know the basic way to play the game.

The rule won't change because it has been one for many years and no one has ever had any issue with the rule. It's extremely easy to understand and if anyone has any questions we can answer them without any trouble. You basically came here complaining about the rule probably because you were dumb enough to mute VC and ignore chat to get killed by someone who claimed a room. Admins most likely explained this to you on the server and you didn't like the response.

When multiple people already gave you reasons for the rule being in place you clearly don't understand them. Our server has been doing completely fine for years with the current rule set and the population has been high that we have 2 servers! If our rules bother you so much then go play on one of the other servers you want to compare us to. We aren't holding a gun to your head demanding you play here.

The biggest point of claiming rooms in overtime IMO is to force the t's to confront the remaining innocents before overtime hits and gives the innocents a better advantage when it does. The rule is stated very clearly about claiming. If someone is already in a room and another runs in and claims the room they can't kill whoever is already in the room. Only those who enter afterwards. Outside open areas aren't claimable for obvious reasons. Descriptions of the room being claimed are absolutely necessary as to avoid inno's killing inno's, but it still happens because like you stated people mute VC or ignore regular chat which is on them.

This is quite an essential part of the game mode and has been an easily followed rule for many years. If you believe someone isn't following the specified rule properly feel free to take ss's and either ask an SO or staff member about the circumstances or report it in the complaint department if you feel any staff currently on aren't doing their job. Someone usually responds to any complaint within the moment you post to a few hours at most.

Rootbeer reacted to Swed in Warcraft 3 Balance Survey
Hey guys, I've been curious on how the community feels about server balance and we haven't done one of these in a while so I felt like doing an unofficial one myself. Feel free to fill out the responses with as much or little detail as you feel necessary. Remember this is just for myself so don't expect any changes based on what you submit. Please also avoid troll submissions as I really want to do some quantitative analysis on this.

    Thanks!

    List of Races: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-acfX9lAfh1iUoOlSLqOXLC7KQj5ei8-okvTZBOkmJ0/edit?usp=sharing

EDIT: If you feel you can't think of any of the required fields, put N/A. I'm also formulating a master list of races on the server to help you think if need be, stay tuned. You can resubmit your response later on by editing it when you revisit the link.

Also, if you can't think of races you believe are weak, list races you never see instead. Those races could possibly need a buff to become relevant again.

It's like the couple gmod TTT players back in the day that thought it was fine to say "good bye" when logging off by typing some racist shit. It's brilliant! They leave so we can't warn and then never get in trouble. What could go wrong?

What's unfair about it? The war3 mod opens up new cover and vantage points to maps -- learn them. Simply using them is just part of the mod. Even when we had maps that had areas where you were clearly out of the map, it took a stickler admin to invoke the out of boundaries slay on someone if the location didn't give a clear advantage (unlike this one which only provides a vantage point and prohibits your movement: you can only move to the left or forward.) CS:S cs_militia was fun AF.

I do find it weird. But there's lots of possibilities, and no real good explanation. Was he trying to get only Molotov kills from the very start? He says so, I'm not going to call him a liar, but there's no way to verify that 13ish hours. There's also the fact that there has to be a varying degree of inconsistency, regardless of playing the same races, maps, using the same tactics, etc. For example sometimes playing a knife race I'll go 20-2, or something, but the next map go 2-20. There's a lot of factors there, but he also says he got a lot of kills prior, so again it's impossible to tell what he really did if it was off.

I will say that the start of the event was a bit rough. Obviously his is atgs first event, and we lost face who previously mainly handled the war3 events. I've never really messed with war3 configs, so there were things that were overlooked that needed turned on (i.e. The issue with the gold bars, and people seeing error boxes instead). This shouldn't have affected tracking, but everything seems to have been working fine around a day into the event. So we can potentially discard any damage done that first day-ish, I'm not sure.

I'll also take a second to apologize for not giving a great response last night. I don't like seeing people have issues with our servers, but them then going and telling people that "sg sucks dick..." got me in a not-so-helpful mood last night. My point to just stop playing, was more out of frustration, because we (staff) do all we can to make events, and servers in general enjoyable. Then to see people just rage and not even seem to care that we're volunteering our time to try and make these events and stuff, really turns me away from wanting to help. This is the very thing you're frustrated about... wasting your time, so I hope you can see why it'd also be frustrating for staff. I don't even participate in events - I still play the servers, but I feel like the prizes and everything should go towards the regular community members.

At least acknowledging the bug and showing some empathy for the time he wasted would be a good first step.

Ok, then why isn't his?  21 hours of playtime on WC3 over the past 4 days compared to Elliot's 6 hours, and you honestly believe he only did 400 damage using molotovs when he was sitting there focusing on that?

Did you guys just realize it's been broken for the past 3 days and fix it, that's why the damage is working now?
