  1. Thanks for your concern, but I'm just going to say we won't be going forward with your suggestion. Although I get what you're trying to get at, it seems kind of silly to nominate and promote someone who potentially has no desire for the role. If they are good, active members, they can apply. There's no real hoops to jump through.

  2. Moved out of the complaint department to War3. For future reference, the complaint department is used for reporting abusive players / admins, appealing bans, etc. Server specific issues should be discussed or reported in their appropriate subforums.

To address your concern, I'm not sure quite what you mean by the gun and arm textures moving around. Screenshots or demos might help. As for weapons going invisible, this is pretty common unfortunately throughout CSGO - particularly any custom servers. As Ice stated, if you record a demo (you can immediately stop it so you don't record long demos and take up space), it fixes the issue.

I can only get on my computer during the weekend but almost every day I hop on for a good couple of hours.

    ????????

Anyways, War3 has always had a tendency to lose population when things start to stagnate. Even last year when Face stepped away for tax season, the population of the server saw a drastic drop for those four months. Hopefully with him back and actively pushing out new races and fixes, the population will steadily climb again.

Ye, I heard it mentioned a few times, just removed my launch options and saw the cmd: 75.0/s and up: 64.0/s. So it just seems like they didn't configure for 128 tick at all. Kinda dumb you have to manually configure it like that but that's just the way it is, so I guess we just disregard it. For anyone wondering, my launch settings.

    -novid -freq 144 -refresh 144 -tickrate 128 -maxplayers_override 50 -nojoy -nod3d9ex1 +exec autoexec.cfg

I could technically force the min rate and max rate to both be 128, and this would fix it for them. However, I'm not a fan of forcing min rates on people since there are people who don't have great connections.

Someone mentioned that the server is actually at 75 tick, and it sure feels like it w/ the amount of blood splatters/no registry at times. I don't know the merit of it but I think it was something with the choke at 75 or something.

It's One-Twenty-Fake Tick though. Anyhow, I voted for it. I don't mind the 'low' player count.

    People confuse me.

  6. Personal opinion on the slots piece would be to keep it as is. If we see population increase to steadily be hitting 20/20 and it being an issue, then we can reevaluate. I don't see any reason to drop tick in its current state and players get less performance.

I'm super critical of jb, I meme on jb alot.

"ay another jb thread, good read, same time next week"

no amount of pop jb threads will revive jb.

nobody wants to play jb anymore guys, and if it's true that pubg is the reason that csgo community servers are losing pop, we should have focus on pubg.

things come and go, time keeps moving, people change, we adapt.

alot of our members are already playing pubg religiously, use that to our advantage.

You're really dense, aren't ya? Every time one of these threads is posted, you come in with the same trash. You're not funny. None of your points are valid. Stick to your game and stop trying to shit on other servers. Learn a thing or two before posting, and start acting like an SO of our community. Your server isn't the only one that matters.

You say we should focus on pubg if that's what people are playing. Guess what, if you participated in some of the ongoing discussion instead of "being a memer" you would realize the same thing we've told many people. PUBG does not currently have a way to focus on it. Nor do many other newer games. Fewer and fewer games are providing opportunities for communities like ours. There's no privately hosted servers for us to take advantage of. We're open to suggestions, and we're not going to just stop focusing on what our community has been developed around.

Guess what guys, the one who posted this is one of the few people that successfully brought back a server. When Crobat dedicated himself to ZE, he (with the help of some others that wanted to see it come back) was able to repop it for a long time. Yes, our servers are at a low. That doesn't mean they can't be revived. Other servers have also took a hit, but they're not as low as ours. We've had good success the past couple weeks, even if it's only during the evenings, of populating servers. If we continue doing this we will get new players joining and coming back. Like Crobat said, we just have to actually be dedicated to it. His advice is sound, and he's done it before.

  8. If it works for some it's an issue on your end. The most common issue similar to this is people having a different version of the map with the same name.

I just recently reinstalled csgo, so I'll try both of those maps out and see if I get any issues.

If you were to  ask JT he would give his two cents on the topic. Also I don't think comparing two servers who run the same mod but coded differently is invalid. The bots are not meant to be a challenge but if you crank up their AI trust me they will do just fine. They are place holders and something for the players trying to populate the server something to kill and spend time with instead of going afk or running around in circles.

    1. Comparing them isn't invalid. But saying that they work there, so it works here is not a valid conclusion.

    2. Bots in CSGO aren't AI.

    3. Again, they won't do just fine in our server.

3a. Without significant effort to make bots work correctly, it'd be just as dull and boring as running around in circles.

Yet they somehow work on cegamers. It wasn't a problem when the server was popular. Having to wait 30 mins populating an empty server just to have one person join and immediately leave gets old tbh.

    Valid points though...

Comparing two different servers also isn't a valid point. We don't know anything about the way they have their servers setup, coded their races, etc.

because it works somewhere else doesn't mean it'll work here.

So its an opinion ok makes more sense

Also, everything we do with the servers you could argue is opinion. We have people in charge of them, deciding what they think is best for the sever. I don't know anyone that enjoys joining a server to see it full of bots, so we base our decisions on the general consensus that people don't like bots.

    >I see a server with 10 people on it

    >I join and see bots
    >I leave.

    >I see the same server later still with 10 people on it

    >I assume it's just bots again, and don't even bother joining.

great words of wisdom. Care to elaborate

Not really. It's just not going to happen. But I guess I will.

    Bots are retarded.

Nobody likes to play against bots.

You join a server that says 10/20, you expect there to be players, most people will see bots and leave and assume the server is always dead.

Bots can't use skills / use them effectively - also some (all?) races break basic functionality of bots (ie, they wont jump). Really makes them pointless.

  12. 12 hours ago, turbulance said:

I suggested it in the past when war3 was suffering from population problems and back in time we use to have them....BOTS....yep bots put 5 v 5 bots 24/7 and every time a player joined one would go away until all the bots went away. It has been proven in the past that if players abuse exp gains it can be detected and punished. If people were so worried about exp abuse a reduced exp plugin could be created to lower rewards for killing bots. I have never personally been against bots in a empty server I have been against players trying to figure out ways on how to abuse that time alone with them. Bots have feelings too

    not happening

This year will be my 3rd year of being an invitee to the Black Hat Convention in Las Vegas, like i said i know what im saying i just dont give a fuck to explain myself because most of this site is filled with kids who dont even know the difference between ddos and dox. Also i dont give a fuck about this topic in general because i dont plan to do that to anyone ever so like why is it a thing? why is everyone trying so hard to argue?

So I know a lot of people here are having fun arguing with you guys, but there's really only two issues I have with what you two are saying. The first one being the above quote. You're again assuming this community is filled with people of lower education than yourselves. Myself and others have graduated with CS, EE, and other degrees, while actually working in industry and volunteering time here on the side to make sure our servers are maintained, protected, etc. You two talk a lot about everyone here making assumptions about you, but you're doing the same. Trust me when I say we're providing essentially the best services possible to our servers (within any sort of reasonable cost).

Lastly, most servers don't offer a paid admin position, they offer a DONATOR position that is given MINIMAL perms necessary to contain the basic offenses. Not the ability to ban, kick, or anything of that sort. If you're going to attempt to sound good at what you do or intelligent, at least use some facts to minimize your embarrassment.

    2 hours ago, *star* said:

My point exactly. And people think paying for a rank besides donator is fucking ok lmao. you dont pay for a staff member position on a server. that is fucking LAUGHABLE

    2 hours ago, Dad? said:

It's more than any paid rank should be entitled to, I know that much. You guys are assuming that since SG servers offer it that "Almost 99%" of other servers do the same. You should NEVER be able to purchase permissions such as ban, etc. Gag and mute are understandable since they can't be heavily abused but ban can be, very easily. Certain permissions should be exclusive to staff ranks, nothing else.

    1 hour ago, Dad? said:

No matter how you look at it, we were banned for no reason and we're upset because we gave the server money for a rank on a server that we aren't even allowed to join. That's a bit fucked up that we're being punished as a result of Lot's menstrual cycle. If she can't handle the pressure of being an SO and accepting to the idea of Admins being able to do her job better than her, maybe she should find a new server to harass people on. I'm still waiting for any evidence of either one of us "abusing" our powers to be presented.

I quoted quite a few of these where you keep talking about how admin should not be purchasable. This last quote above is exactly why we're able to. You two were banned, and unbanned a couple of days later (sorry it took so long, I do appreciate you donating to the servers and trying to help them out). BUT this is exactly the process we have in place, if people think there has been abuse by ANY admin, paid or volunteer, report (or if they're in an upper position such as staff / so, they can ban them and report them) so that it can be properly taken care of. In this case, you two were unbanned, but if abuse was found, admin would potentially be taken away. I don't see any reason we can't offer increased permissions, with higher consequences for wrongful use. Not to mention on other servers outside of GMOD, it does give many of the other benefits you guys have mentioned (cosmetic, extra side perks, etc).

As with any ban that gets reversed, I apologize for the time you guys missed out on playing the server. Especially since it was a good chunk of the weekend.

  14. Supporters must now wait 1 additional map to nominate a previously played map (e.g. If you start on office, then go to italy, you must complete italy and load into the next map before you can nominate office again)
Supporters can now nominate recently played maps directly from the nomination menu (/nominate) instead of doing it by text command only.

  15. To add on to what face said, you're also talking about a very specific map. You even said people either leave or play the stupidly op races (for that map). Most of the abilities are nowhere near as strong on other maps. Personally I don't like crackhouse. I'd rather it be gone, but asking for balances based on a specific map as this isn't really worth it imo.
